Dr Dampare was sworn into office by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Jubilee House. Profile of COP Dr George Akuffo DampareDr. George Akuffo Dampare is the youngest Acting Inspector–General of Police (IGP) to be appointed in the Fourth Republic and the eighth youngest since Ghana gained independence. Specifically, Dr. Dampare has been Director-General for Administration and Director-General for Welfare twice. Aside from his policing, Dr. Dampare previously worked as a Research Fellow and lecturer at King’s College London, University of London.
