The situation if not rectified has the possibility of derailing the 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC) in the community. Clement Adjei told Ghanaweb in an interview that the Ghana Statistical Service wrongly captured the community under the Jaman North District during the 2010 Population and Housing Census (PHC). He disclosed that despite concerns from the community and the subsequent assurance from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) the mistake was not rectified. He explained that the Free SHS will help people get a better education so that they are not caught in circumstances that will cause them dangers such as being bitten by dogs. Speaking on the floor of Parliament Thursday, he claimed “recently, someone went to a house in Kaneshie and got bitten by a dog. He added: “Mr Speaker, so the argument is simple, beware of dogs will not be a problem tomorrow.”The Free SHS policy is a Government of Ghana initiative introduced by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration in September 2017. In 2018, the President and his team introduced another initiative as part of the Free SHS Education Policy which is the Double Track System. The Double Track System is in two sessions, thus The Green Track and The Gold Track.

He added the ECG has recently adopted the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) module to synchronize and automate its internal processes and procedures. The dialogue series which was under the theme, “Towards a Financially Sustainable & Customer focused energy service provider: the role of the senior staff” and is designed to promote critical conversations between senior staff and key stakeholders in the company on ways to address factors that militate against smooth operations.

The training seminar which falls under the Betway Up programme was aimed at uplifting community sports teams in the Eastern Region. The training session which was held in Koforidua in the Eastern Region was attended by female and male volleyball community teams as well as table tennis teams in the Eastern Region. The community teams were sensitized in the areas of sports science, coaching and fitness. To further support the participating teams, Betway made a donation of volleyball and table tennis equipment to all the participating teams to aid preparations for their various leagues and competitions.

The facility, according to the Board Chair of the company, Isaac Osei is expected to assist the firm to undergo some expansion projects. “We have also obtained approval from the Food and Drugs Authority for the commencement of the construction of the new factory premises and soon, we’ll start,” the Board Chair revealed. Managing Director of the indigenous firm, Moukhtar Soalihu on his part expressed gratitude to government for the support to local businesses and assured that the facility granted will be maximized judiciously. Soalihu further maintained that though the impacts of COVID-19 was not spared on them in the first half of 2020, the indigenous company also recorded some gains for the rest of the year. The Board Chair further said the company is intensifying an ongoing collaboration with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) School of Pharmacy on research and product development.

This was on the back of terrorist attacks that happened in neighboring Burkina Faso. The team’s first stopped at Nyive, one of the growing borders in the region and engaged senior officers of the Customs Exercise and Preventive Service (CEPS) and the Immigration Service in a short meeting on how to work together to stop terrorists infiltrating the country. He was also of a view that it is prudent to have a good relationship with residents on the border towns. The Commander with his entourage also visited Shia and Hornuta borders all within the Ho Central and scheduled to continue the tour in other parts.

Since that broad daylight robbery incident at Adadekpon near Jamestown, the Ghana Police Service had declared the suspects wanted. The report added that he was leading the police to the hideouts of the other suspects when he escaped. Upon locating the suspects, one of them, Musah Kamara, is said to have attempted fleeing but was shot in the left knee and overpowered subsequently. “The Police continue to urge the public to support our work of ensuring the safety of communities with credible information. Informants are assured of the strictest confidentiality,” a statement from the police urging support from the public has said.

In a statement from the Ghana Police, the Achimota District Police commander, Supt. He has been involved in countless robberies within the Achimota Forest enclave since 2019. Again on Monday, June 14, 2021, suspect Shadrach Anopa robbed a car dealer of his bag containing an unspecified amount of money at CP Roundabout and some vehicle documents. A search was extended to all his hiding places but he was fast to escape arrest. The Achimota police arrested him from his hideout with the support of the Ahafo Regional police command after a message was sent to them.

The government, in a new directive, has asked telcos to deduct a 10% tax from the cash-out service of MoMo agents. The Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAG) in a press statement said government has failed to meet them for an amicable conclusion. The association believes that the new directive makes members pay a total of 20% tax on a monthly basis. Initially, Agents pay 5% on cash-in Service wallet, but it was secretly increased to 10% without our knowledge.
