Upon the arrest of Kwame Dogyi and Obio Akwasi, they admitted to having killed the man of God in his home. The regional state attorney Mr. Quddus Salia who led prosecution said the convicts; Dogyi Kwame and Obio Akwasi, are cousins, both aged 21 and students of Tamale Technical University. The sprayer became suspicious and alerted the Police who went for the vehicle and later arrested Dogyi Kwame. One of the convicts, Dogyi Kwame lived in the same house with the murdered pastor and believed to have masterminded the robbery attack. The state attorney had told Starr News after securing that conviction, that more than five suspects are languishing in death row awaiting their death.

He stated categorically that the NPRA is coming after all defaulters. According to the Chief Executive Officer of NPRA, Hayford Atta Krufi, the NPRA's action to bring them to book is in accordance with the law. Since the NPRA took illegal action against defaulting institutions in July last year, a total of GH¢6.2 m has been retrieved from defaulting institutions. He, therefore, urged all employees to report their employers who fail to pay their pension contributions to the Authority for swift actions to be taken against them.

The incident occurred on Sunday, 4 July 2021, in front of an uncompleted building at a new site in the community. Mr. Kwae said a Toyota car key, some money, and a mobile phone suspected to belong to the deceased were found at the scene. A white Toyota Vitz car with registration number GE 3170-21 suspected to be used by the deceased as Uber was also found at the scene. Mr. Samuel Yaw Kwae indicated that fear has gripped residents in the area since such a crime has not been recorded in the area before.

Already, the country’s total public debt rose to GH¢304.6 billion as of March 2021, rising by GH¢67.9 billion over the same period in 2020. “Before COVID-19, Ghana’s debt to GDP ratio was below 70 percent, which was manageable. So yes, we are concerned [about the debt situation], and as an economist I think government can do better,” he concluded. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund has earlier added its voice to the worrying public debt situation of Ghana.

Assistant coach Abdul Hanan Abu is currently at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital fighting for his life after he was beaten to pulp by supporters of Dreams FC at Dawu. He disclosed that the team were on their way to the dressing room when the goons unleashed violence on the coach. “We came to play our week 32 match against Dreams FC. After the game, we were going to the dressing room to prepare for our trip back home when our coach was attacked and beaten mercilessly. The supporters however took the violence to the streets with reports of fights between BA United Fans and RTU supporters.
