This was disclosed to the media following several requests to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Secretariat. According to the Secretariat, the promotions were mainly administrative and based on special recommendations, in line with the Police Service Regulations, 2012 (Constitutional Instrument 76). The Secretariat disclosed that it had received numerous petitions concerning alleged unfair treatment meted out to some officers. After reviewing their cases, the Service promoted them posthumously.

In a statement issued by its Finance Directorate, the NHIA announced that a total of GH¢392,031,851.26 was paid out between December 2025 and January 2026. The payments cover claims submitted by healthcare providers in the previous year and thoroughly vetted by the NHIA before approval. Public and private health facilities received the largest share of the funds, accounting for about 80.55 per cent of the total disbursement. Public facilities were reimbursed GH¢157,164,301.62, while private facilities received GH¢158,630,317.29. "The payments reflect the Authority's resolve to promptly pay claims to enable healthcare providers to continue delivering quality services to NHIS members across the country," the statement concluded.

According to the IEA, the survey was conducted in December 2025 and involved more than 1,000 participants from all regions of the country. A year later, the IEA noted that although some key economic indicators appear to be improving, many Ghanaians continue to face huge socioeconomic difficulties. The survey also pointed out widespread concern about the cost of living.

According to Akwasi Anti Asamoah, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, despite several unsuccessful attempts at the presidency, consistently maintained Dr Bawumia as his running mate. He believes the same strategy should be applied by maintaining Dr Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, as Bawumia’s running mate. Speaking in an interview on Angel TV, which has since been shared on social media, Anti Asamoah said every individual has flaws but Dr Opoku Prempeh has acknowledged his shortcomings and worked on them. Akufo-Addo contested with him as running mate three times, and they eventually won. Dr Bawumia has since been elected again to lead the NPP and is yet to name his running mate for the upcoming election.

According to the report, the review application was heard on January 27, 2026, by a panel presided over by Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang. The dispute, which also involves Holy Quaye, has travelled from the High Court to the Court of Appeal and eventually to the Supreme Court. Lawyers for Tetteh Adjei presented six grounds which they argued amounted to a miscarriage of justice and a misapplication of the law. However, the court held that those arguments did not satisfy the strict requirements for invoking its review jurisdiction.

Speaking at the launch of the 2026 GNAPS Week Celebration at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, GNAPS President, Professor Damasus Tuurusong, said private schools are struggling to cope with a 24.24 percent increase in BECE registration fees this year. “This year’s increase of 24.24% in the BECE registration was unconscionable,” he said. “We plead for a reset of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) registration charges to reflect the current economic situation,” he added. GNAPS is therefore calling for collaboration, understanding and broad-based support to protect private education and prevent further fee hikes that could affect thousands of students across the country.

He disclosed that earlier, in 2022, officers had also intercepted a case involving a different food product mixed with cocaine. In all these cases, part of the packaging contained genuine food products, while other portions concealed the narcotics.
