14 ‘wanted’ robbery suspects arrested
Ebenezer Sasu and Emmanuel Quist have also been arrested in connection with a robbery incident at Kasim Buduburam. According to the police in the Central Region, the suspects allegedly assaulted the victim and they are assisting the police in their investigations to arrest two other suspects. In the Upper West Region, one Samsendeen Nasil has been arrested for allegedly robbing and raping a young woman on the 8th of August 2021 at a village near Wechau. Two suspects, Yahaya Dramani and Prince Twumasi have been arrested at Kintampo in the Bono East Region for allegedly robbing a bank manager of GH200 on 11th August 2021. Three persons have been arrested in the Yigezi community for allegedly robbing and raping a woman in the North East Region.

Producer price inflation rate for July 2021 is 8.4%

This rate represents a 1.7 percentage point decrease in producer inflation relative to the rate recorded in June 2021 (10.1%). The month-on-month change in the producer price index between June 2021 and July 2021 was 0.1 percent. The producer price inflation in the Mining and Quarrying sub-sector decreased by 7.3 percentage points over the June 2021 rate of 9.5 percent to record 2.2 percent in July 2021. In July 2020, the producer price inflation rate for all industries was 9.3 percent.

Nidan Justice said the situation has since affected the teaching and learning state of the school with students being forced to resort to studying under trees. He however added that various efforts to reach the NaDMO regional director and Member of Parliament for the Mion Constituency, Musah Abdul Aziz for support, has proven futile. Mohammed further called on authorities to heed their plea and render assistance in remedying the situation for the teachers and students of the school.

The statement disclosed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, 15 August assured his counterpart, President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone of Ghana’s support, in a telephone conversation hours after the incident. Also, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will visit Sierra Leone on Saturday 19 August 2017 to express the commiseration of the Ghanaian people to the government and people of Sierra Leone.
