The soldiers put in a search for the late Félix Bedi Gedzah when he failed to return their cell phones until evening. The Togolese soldiers arrested him and physically assaulted him until he passed out. They eventually found the young man, Bedi Gedzah Felix, and the phone but without the SIM card. The young Bedi Gedzah was later picked up by two of his relatives and evacuated to a Ghanian health center. The next day, the victim's parents informed the Togolese security services that the victim had died at about 3 am.

27-year-old Eunice Yeboah was on her way home on Sunday, August 22, in the company of her younger brother, Wisdom, when the mishap occurred. Some excited friends and family of the groom who had amassed in front of the reception grounds had been firing shots indiscriminately. Eunice’s mother, Janet, also told GhanaWeb that after stitching and joining her intestines, the doctor told them she had to be put in a machine that would cost them GH¢2,000. “...Doctor told me that they were done with the operation but she is unconscious and had been put on oxygen so we should pray. Family of Eunice Yeboah say the case is being investigated by the police although no arrests have been made yet.

The aggrieved workers said they receive a daily wage of GH¢19. Spokesperson of the team, Philip Kogi Owoo, said GH¢19 for such a “tedious job” was not enough adding that the money does not cover their daily necessities. In an interview with Citi News, Owoo who doubles as the Warehouse Officer said, “Our wage is very insulting. There is even no water on site for the workers. The $2-billion SinoHydro-funded project, being executed by Messrs SinoHydro Corporation Limited, commenced in December 2020 and is expected to be completed in 30 months.

The petition is requesting an investigation into the circumstances resulting in the procurement of some US$36 million worth of electricity metres by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) back in 2016. The energy think-tank in a statement signed by its Executive Director, Kwadwo Poku described the purchase as fraudulent hence their decision to submit the petition. “Key appointees within the NDC government in 2015/16 planned this transaction to defraud the State through the acquisition of Electric meters for ECG,” INSTEPR noted. The energy think-tank said the probe was necessary to avert the financial losses the energy sector often incurs. INTESPR also claims that the unused electric meters are currently locked in a warehouse belonging to the ECG because they did not meet the required product specifications and standards.

General News of Thursday, 26 August 2021Source: 3news.comThe Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission is hunting for an elephant that killed a 42-year-old farmer in Yankajia in the East Mamprusi District in the North East Region of Ghana. The escaped elephant is part of three other elephants that strayed into the community and attacked the community members. After the incident that occurred Wednesday, officials of the Wildlife Division arrived in the community searching for the animal. Joseph Binlinla confirmed that, although the animals are free-ranging animals, the Wildlife protects all animals in the forest areas. According to the Wildlife division, they use drones to monitor the animals' movement but have no control over them.

The beneficiary communities for this project are Communities Twelve, Eleven, and parts of Community Six. Another of the projects had to do with the restoration of faulty underground sub-transmission link cables between two substations. This was to ensure that Communities Five, Six, and Ten would have a better supply of power. This, he said, often leads to unnecessary delays in case of faults repairing, which eventually leads to delayed outage periods.
