A goalless draw saw Ethiopia and Malawi push each other out of the flight to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, for the delayed Afcon finals. Now, the rationale of hosting Malawi in neighbouring Mozambique in the decisive 2023 Afcon Group D qualifier seems even Greek. The thought of hosting an away team, Malawi, at their own backyard of Lilongwe on Tuesday sounded Portuguese for hosts Ethiopia. Ethiopia and Malawi said their goodbyes to each other and the Afcon race in Maputo. It was a typical classic case of: ‘my way or no way' for Ethiopia and Malawi.

There were also signs that people whom the USAID official described only as “market actors” were forcing hungry families to surrender food aid they received — something that WFP suspects as well. “The first principle of humanitarian aid is to do no harm.

An initiative of President Isaac Herzog, the aim of Kol Ha’am is to create a “Jewish Davos” – a collaborative forum for Jewish representatives from around the world to engage in complex and sensitive discussions regarding the future of the Jewish people. The conference was jointly held by the Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA), the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and the World Zionist Organisation (WZO). In his video message to delegates, Herzog cited global Jewry’s own “polarisation and alienation from one another” as the greatest threat to the Jewish people. We are a thriving and accomplished people, connected by ties – historic ties, religious ties, family ties – that stretch across the globe over millennia,” he said. “Kol Ha’am aims to create a platform where the voices of our global Jewish family can be heard, where ideas and perspectives can be exchanged freely,” she said.

DUBAI: Danish model Mona Tougaard attended the celebrity-packed outdoor Louis Vuitton show in Paris, which was musician-turned-designer Pharrell Williams’ first runway as the men’s creative director at the French luxury fashion house. Tougaard was joined by US Palestinian model Fai Khadra, Romanian Jordanian footwear designer Amina Muaddi and British Oscar winner Riz Ahmed. In a show that further anchored the LVMH-owned label in popular culture, models strode across the gold-painted runway to live music. A couple of souped-up karts even made their way down the catwalk carrying piles of classic Vuitton luggage. “The idea was to instill the idea that Louis Vuitton is also the master of tailoring of a dandy man who wants to be somewhat more elegant,” Vuitton CEO Pietro Beccari said of his brief to Williams.
