The 46th-annual Boilermaker was a record-breaking one in Utica, as thousands crossed the finish line before the famous after-party got underway. Jemal Yimer Mekonnen’s quest to break the record he set last year was successful, with the Ethiopian setting a mark of 42:06 in the men’s 15K. He becomes the fourth man to win the race in consecutive years and crossed the finish line more than 30 seconds faster than his 2022 time. "Every time as an older athlete, every time I get to the start line and finish line healthy mean a lot to me,” said Aliphine Tulianuk, who was the top American female finisher. “And as a new mom, I know I'm inspiring my daughter and a lot of young boys and girls out there.

Eighteen years ago, when 14-year-old girls tried (unsuccessfully) to block highways, they were detained until the end of proceedings. Four years ago, Ethiopian Israeli demonstrators blocked Tel Aviv’s Azrieli intersection in (they didn’t dare block the adjacent Ayalon Highway). Bringing these facts to light in the media (that is, in those outlets that are even willing to air these claims) doesn’t help. The religious Zionist camp has the human resources to balancing this situation. The result will be university graduates who are Zionists who love the people of Israel and the Land of Israel.

Egypt is seeking to retake its traditionally leading role in Sudan, inviting its neighbours to a summit meeting in Cairo this week to find ways to end the war there. Sudan's Army chief Gen Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, right, and RSF paramilitary leader Gen Mohamed Dagalo. Egypt was surprisingly left out of indirect negotiations between the army and the RSF mediated by the US and Saudi Arabia. AFPEgypt has forged close ties with army chief Gen Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, who seized power in October 2021. Cairo has in the meantime kept Gen Mohamed Dagalo, the RSF commander and Gen Al Burhan's one-time ally and deputy, at an arm's length.

Diplomatic efforts to halt fighting between Sudan's army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have so far proved ineffective, with competing initiatives creating confusion over how the warring parties might be brought to negotiate. Neither Egypt, seen as the Sudanese army's most important foreign ally, nor the United Arab Emirates, which has had close ties to the RSF, have played a prominent public role. Over 255,000 have crossed into Egypt, according to latest figures from the International Organization for Migration. On Saturday, Sudan's health ministry said a strike by fighter jets in Omdurman, part of Sudan's wider capital, left 22 people dead, an incident that drew condemnation from U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres. (Additional reporting by Mohamed Waly and Omar Abdel-Razek, Writing by Hatem Maher and Aidan Lewis; Editing by Sharon Singleton)

The project activities are golden opportunities for many: those who take contracts to do these projects, workers at these sites, etc. Even the 500 billion project of the new palace and city is not audited by the country’s finance minister, parliament, or any other body. He has seen it in Ethiopian history: Fasiledes Castle, Menelik’s Palace in Addis Ababa, Haileselasse’s Palace in Bezait Bahir Dar, etc. As a charismatic protestant believer, he has heard the stories of King Saul, King David, and others who are anointed to be kings. The prime minister, the self-appointed king, is focused at level 5 day and night.

Ethiopia and Nigeria’s central banks have reportedly exchanged an estimated $100 million in frozen funds.
