Netflix gains subscribers with ads and password crackdown
In May the Silicon Valley giant expanded its crackdown on users sharing passwords with people beyond their immediate family, as it seeks to shore up revenue. To convert non-paying users, Netflix has introduced "borrower" or "shared" accounts, in which subscribers can add extra viewers for a higher price, or transfer viewing profiles to new accounts. "We are incredibly and totally committed to ending this strike," Netflix co-chief executive Ted Serandos said during an earnings presentation. During the strike, Netflix said it was relying on productions ready for release and a large base of upcoming films and shows from around the world. Netflix cited popular shows including "One Piece," "Class Act" out of France, and "Guns & Gulaabs" from India.

This brings up the biggest question from the last column: What is meant by the idea that God should be taught in the university? As such, it is wonderful that the column garnered a response — this is the way the university was meant to be. Because nature cannot be its own cause, there must be something that is, by definition, supernatural, and since all effects are ultimately caused by God, God is supernatural. Narayanganj steel mill blast: Death toll rises to four
Another worker who suffered burn injuries in the explosion at the Sharmin Steel Ltd factory in Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj has died, bringing the total death toll to four. Earlier, Mozammel Haque (30), Shariful Islam (26), and Saiful Islam (30), died while undergoing treatment. Currently, a 25-year-old named Iqbal Hossain is in critical condition at the hospital and is receiving care, according to Tariqul. Five workers suffered burn injuries after a gas line exploded at the steel mill in Godnail early on Saturday morning. Among them, Mozammel had burns all over his body, Saiful suffered burns on over 60 per cent of his body, Shariful on over 57 per cent of his body, and Iqbal on over 30 per cent of his body.

Govt finalises 'formula' for setting fuel prices
A new formula has been finalised to determine the price of fuel oil in coordination with the international market, according to State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid. “We have established a formula based on the indexing formula used by oil companies,” the state minister said in response to a question at a workshop on Tuesday. Though the price in global markets fell later on, the fuel prices were not adjusted downwards. For a few years before this, fuel was sold in Bangladesh at prices higher than in the international market. Despite concerns about energy security amid the start of the Israel-Palestine conflict, there is no alternative initiative on the matter, State Minister Hamid said.
