Campus coffee shops like Goldie’s Café and Temple of Zeus temporarily closed during the outage because they were unable to process orders. Okenshields and Toni Morrison Dining also temporarily closed and turned students away at the door. A handful of students waited to enter the Cocktail Lounge during the outage, as the loss of power took down the card readers. Some professors canceled class during the outage, while others pressed on, according to several posts on Sidechat and interviews with students. North Campus’s Ecology House did not lose power at all, and the Collegetown Bagels locations in Collegetown and downtown Ithaca lost power for less than a minute.

The “radical” stepped hull kept the boat on a nearly parallel plane with the water. When Dan bought this boat, I was not very accustomed to stepped hull boats. At first, it took a while to adjust to the stepped hull. Before long, I anticipated the feel of the hull when we reached speeds that moved the placement of the water under the hull. Dan, Tim and I whooped and raised our arms when we moved out of the channel and headed for open water.

The Bangladesh embassy in Thailand has warned citizens about job scams in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia, following reports of people being 'held hostage' under the guise of employment offers. According to the embassy, scam centres operating in these countries use online platforms, including fake websites, emails, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram, to lure victims with fake job advertisements. Once people are deceived into accepting these offers, they are reportedly taken to scam centres, where both Bangladeshis and nationals from other countries are forcibly held at gunpoint and coerced into participating in scam operations. They can also seek assistance from the Bangladesh embassies in foreign countries to verify the details of the recruiting company. Several Bangladeshis who managed to escape and were freed from scam centres in Myanmar and Cambodia have already been repatriated to Bangladesh, the embassy said.

But now, a shortage of dollars and widespread protests amid a power struggle between the incumbent president and his predecessor have plunged Bolivians into a state of perpetual uncertainty. Whether the allegations against Morales are true or not, said Valverde, they are part of an "instrumentalization of justice." "It is the Bolivian political culture, in which institutions are subordinated to political interests," said political scientist Ana Lucia Velasco, who studies political polarization. The World Justice Project rates Bolivia 131st out of 142 countries for rule of law. A new alignment of high-court judges, following the coming election, could reverse decisions now affecting Morales.
