Focusing on export, investment, consumption to boost growth: PM
HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Saturday asked ministries, agencies and localities to push the three engines of export, investment and consumption in order to spur the country's future economic growth. The move is to maintain the macro-economic stability, control inflation, boost growth and ensure major economic balances, PM Chinh emphasised. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is currently developing an implementation plan based on the tasks assigned by the Prime Minister. COVID-19 meets criteria for Group B infectious diseases: PM
Currently, the rate of hospitalised COVID-19 patients is lower than that of some Group B infectious diseases, and the rate of severe cases is equal to or lower than that of some Group B infectious diseases such as dengue fever and hand-foot-mouth disease. Participants at the meeting said that COVID-19 had met the criteria for Group B infectious diseases as prescribed in Point b, Clause 1, Article 3 of the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases. However, the announcement of the end of the COVID-19 pandemic will be made in accordance with the law, and there will be other adjustments, he said. According to the PM, in the coming time, the COVID-19 pandemic will not come to an end its consequences will still linger, therefore, pandemic prevention and control work must be continued. The PM also asked relevant ministries and agencies to continue mobilising and utilising resources for COVID-19 prevention and control, overcoming the consequences of the pandemic and carrying out social security activities.

VN emerges as a major motorcycle market and manufacturing hub

Việt Nam’s automobile imports down in May: GSO
Automobile manufacturers are still waiting for support from the Government, specifically a cut of 50 per cent of the registration fee. Recently, the Government has asked the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to consider conducting a plan for a car registration fee cut. According to the finance ministry, a car registration fee cut should be applied to imported cars as well. The finance ministry reports that purchasing power and consumption are low against the period during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the registration fee cut made an impact on reducing State budget revenue of over VNĐ16 trillion.

National Energy Master Plan should be consistent with other master plans: Deputy PM
HÀ NỘI — Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà yesterday presided over a meeting of the National Appraisal Council of the National Energy Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Addressing the meeting, Deputy PM Hà stressed that the draft plan closely adhered to the assigned task. ASEAN Para Games 12 flag-raising ceremony held

Steering committee seeks solutions to realise green growth targetsThe national steering committee for green growth should work out specific solutions to realise green growth targets based on the country’s socio-economic conditions, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the committee Tran Hong Ha said at the committee’s first meeting on May 30. He also instructed that ministries and sectors urgently build sets of tools and binding standards to classify and assess green growth, while additional investment should be ensured for the transition from the traditional growth model to green growth.
