Thailand to launch big promotional event

The event, hosted as a New Year’s gift to the public, features price reductions on goods and services in line with the government’s efforts to alleviate the cost of living. The upcoming discount campaign, set to run from December 15 to January 15, 2024, builds upon a similar project that began on October 2 and will conclude on December 31. In October, the ministry partnered with 288 business operators to slash prices on over 151,676 items nationwide, leading to a substantial cost of living reduction of 2-3 billion THB. According to Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade (DIT) Wattanasak Sur-iam, the new price reduction programme is expected to be one of the largest of its kind, covering a wide range of products, including food, beverages, essential goods, agricultural products, and services./.

National Assembly passes revised Law on Housing
They said the articles are at odds with the Law on Land, which stipulates that residential land has no design life. Owners are entitled to the freehold of the former whereas they can only own the latter for the design life. The law also has a provision for the lease rates of social housing, which will be regulated by VGCL. Meanwhile, the authority to define the procedures applying to the sale and the lease of social housing will fall to the Government. The law incentivises the construction of social housing by allowing social housing investors to build commercial housing on 20 per cent of the land dedicated to the social housing project, provided that they pay for the use of the land portion.

Quảng Ninh economy maintains growth in 2023

Top 100 Vietnam Best Places to Work announced
HCM CITY — Anphabe, the consulting firm that provides Employer Brand and Happy Workforce solutions, has announced the annual list of Top 100 Vietnam Best Places to Work for 2023. The rankings are based on the findings of the independent Vietnam Best Places to Work survey, which polled 63,878 experienced workers from 18 industry groups and 9,638 students from 113 universities. Nestlé Vietnam gained top spot in the large enterprises category followed by Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage, Vingroup, ACECOOK Vietnam, AEON Vietnam, DHG Pharmaceutical JSC, CJ Foods Vietnam, and Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank. PepsiCo Foods Vietnam Company topped the medium enterprises category, followed by JOLLIBEE Vietnam, Generali Vietnam Life Insurance, BMB STEEL, JABIL Vietnam, McDonald’s Vietnam, IMEXPHARM Corporation, and ADP Group.
