– Vietnam’s “bamboo diplomacy” is suitable for all times, said senior reporter Khamvisan Keosouphan, former Assistant to the Chairperson of the Propaganda and Training Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee. As a veteran journalist who always keeps a close watch on the Vietnam situation, Khamvisan said he was impressed with a speech of Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong about the country’s foreign policy.According to him, in this speech, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong clarified the nature and direction of Vietnam's diplomacy, which has been drawn up during thousands of years of the Vietnamese people's nation building, safeguarding and development, based on the immutability principle and cross-cutting thought of “independence, self-resilience and ensuring national interests at the highest”.The journalist also expressed his impression with Trong’s opinions and analyses on President Ho Chi Minh's thought on diplomacy, an inheritance from the philosophy and diplomatic tradition of previous generations which had been absorbed, summarized and developed by the late President, who was also the first Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.Citing Trong's speech, Khamvisan said it was a smooth combination of patriotism, national culture and diplomatic tradition of Vietnam with the world's cultural quintessence and diplomatic experience. This type of diplomacy always upholds the goal of national independence and the spirit of peace and friendship, uses diplomacy to repel conflicts, and closely follow world realities to bring Vietnam into the flow of the times. He stressed that the “bamboo diplomacy” is imbued with the Vietnamese identity, and is soft and wise but still resilient and resolute; flexible and creative but steadfast, persistent and valiant against all challenges and difficulties facing national independence and people’s happiness; and united and humanitarian but resolute and patient in safeguarding the national interest, as described by the Party chief. This type of diplomacy will not only suit Vietnam's conditions and meet the country's development needs in the current period, but also is suitable for all times, he added./.

HÀ NỘI — As Việt Nam faces increasing challenges regarding water resources, experts are highlighting the importance of clear responsibilities of authorities, as well as the public's own engagement. With the amendment of the Law on Water Resources underway, many experts point out that it is necessary to develop a mechanism that can address the ongoing shortcomings regarding national water management. Hà said: “This overlapping management decreases the efficiency and effectiveness of water resources management. However, the topic has not received adequate attention, leading to the mere modest focus on water resources management in local planning. “Current water resources management is basically in the MoNRE’s scope, but it concerns many other ministries, such as the MARD and the MoIT.

HÀ NỘI — Domestic investors have recently seen shares of the dairy giant Vinamilk (VNM) as an appealing invesment, but foreign investors think the contrary. However, the main momentum of the recovery came from domestic investors, while foreign ones accelerated net selling activities. Foreign investors net sold nearly VNĐ1.5 trillion (US$63.6 million) worth of VNM shares since the beginning of June. Net selling pressure may affect VNM's recovery as foreign investors are still holding about 60 per cent of the dairy producer's shares. VNM was the largest enterprise on the domestic stock market for a long time and a favourite investment among foreign investors.

HÀ NỘI — Indices fell more than 1 per cent on Thursday due to strong selling force, while foreign investors continued to pour capital into the southern market. The VN-Index on the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) dropped nearly 13 points, or 1.14 per cent, to 1,125.39 points. The market needs to create a foundation before accumulating enough strength to overcome the resistance level of 1,150 points. After consecutive short-term recoveries, the VN-Index is currently at a strong resistance area of around 1,150 points. "But we think that the market will need more time to accumulate before surpassing this resistance, and it needs more support from positive macro factors to form a bull market," SHS said.
