Photo exhibition captures plight of a world caught in the grip of Covid-19
A total of 76 Images from photographers in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Palestine, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam were selected for this exhibition co-organised by China Daily and Asia News Network. The images were chosen from 1,175 photos taken in the past three years and submitted by 179 photographers from 18 countries. The event aims to review the changes in life during the Covid-19 pandemic and encourages people to move towards a new beginning, actively responding to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. These photos captured Asians in their daily lives, including work and living, recreation, creative pursuits, health and beauty, animals, festivals, health, the arts, eateries, and education.

Jurin said the meeting would also define the direction of Apec to cope with the current global trade situation and the direction would attach importance to all sectors and would promote free trade and investments for open, sustainable, and connected trade and investments. ‘Apec For Her’ TikTok contest puts women’s empowerment in spotlight

Nation Group profits up 433% this year
The rebound was driven by revenue from advertising sales, events organisation and sale of investments in subsidiary companies. Revenue increased 115% year on year, with revenue from sales and services showing the biggest expansion at 37% year on year. Nation Group sold 691.03 million ordinary shares in Nation Broadcasting Plc (NBC), representing 61.76% of total issued and paid-up capital of NBC. The sales reduced Nation Group’s stake in NBC from 71.45% to 9.99%. As of September 30, the group recorded profit from investments in equity of 162.27 million baht.

Fall in crude oil price, refining margin erode PTT Group’s Q3 net profit
PTT Group consists of seven companies, namely PTT, PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP), Thaioil (TOP), PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC), PTT Oil and Retail Business (OR), IRPC and Global Power Synergy (GPSC). The third-quarter net profit of PTT, TOP, PTTGC, IRPC, OR and GPSC dropped due to a decline in crude oil price and refining margin. However, PTTEP witnessed a rise in third-quarter net profit of 24.17 billion baht, up 153% year on year. Meanwhile, the net profit in its first nine months was 55.29 billion baht, up 96% year on year.

PM urges Asean digital cooperation
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha arrives in Phnom Penh for the Asean Summit on Thursday. The prime minister made the call at the Asean Business and Investment Summit (Abis) 2022, which he attended via videoconference on Thursday. Under the Asean Digital Hub project, Thailand plans to upgrade the country's telecom infrastructure and develop seamless connections with regional internet networks.
