"Adults can be vaccinated but for babies, breastmilk acts as their first vaccine." Breastmilk has the essential nutrients, antibodies, hormones and antioxidants that help boost a baby's immune system and provide protection against infections. After researching breastfeeding, 32-year-old Watcharaporn Pattarasattayakorn was convinced that breastmilk is the first "vaccine" for her child and would give her a good start in life. She could easily seek help from professionals at the hospital's breastfeeding centre if anything went wrong. So while professional treatment at the breastfeeding centre was temporarily unavailable, she managed to treat the spots by herself.

After nine months of pregnancy, mothers have found little support for parenting amid the pandemic, prompting experts to call for longer maternity leave and other welfare benefits. To some extent, three months of maternity leave and child subsidies are helpful for those in need. "Apart from three months of maternity leave, the government should have implemented other family-friendly policies to make us feel safe. Working from home is a good opportunity, but is not available for everyone because the pandemic has a huge impact," he said. If the pandemic forces them to stay at home, they will be deprived of opportunities to develop social skills.

Pfizer fiasco avoidableThe Public Health Ministry must have known there is heightened sensitivity about its allocation of Pfizer vaccines donated by the US. Why should one medical worker be granted the Pfizer vaccine while another is excluded when both are involved in frontline work? The Public Health Ministry set aside 700,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines for medical personnel. The Public Health Ministry must be aware of this. They should know public distrust and, more importantly, resentment among their fellow medical personnel will set back the battle against Covid-19.

Restaurants with permits and food safety standards can operate online food businesses legally for they are only switching from on-site services to delivering food to customers. Food trucks, street food vendors, and online food businesses from home kitchens must strictly adhere to food safety regulations which emphasise hygiene and sanitation of food, personnel and facilities. Operators who use home kitchens to sell their food must meet food safety standards and provide food labellings on ingredients, allergy cautions, and production facilities for traceability. Secondly, the public health authorities should design a new set of food safety standards for home-based food businesses for better consumer protection. The state authorities should consider working with food delivery platforms to make it mandatory for online retail food businesses to meet food safety standards.

Instead, he constantly drags his timid grandson Morty Smith as well as his son-in-law Jerry and granddaughter Summer on bizarrely dangerous adventures across the universe. Rick And Morty has always been shuffling through a lot of great ideas. We always strive to try and make things feel different in each episode and we're still trying to do that. The different things that you see make it to the finish line have gone through a dozen drafts that have taken different swipes at different sci-fi things. It certainly seems like we're probably stuck with more of a season by season thing.

Taiwan-based CTBC Bank (CTBC), a major shareholder of Land and Houses Bank (LH Bank), sees high growth potential of Thai small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the long term, though the SME segment is still facing hardships amid the pandemic, LH Bank president Chompoonoot Pathomporn said in an exclusive interview with the Bangkok Post. Given the progress of SME development in Taiwan and CTBC for more than 10 years, CTBC sees Thai SMEs still have room to further develop, particularly new generation SME business owners. Given the Covid-19 impact, especially on local SMEs, some of the bank's SME customers can adjust operations and generate income positively. As of June, LH Bank booked total loan growth of 5.8% from the end of last year, mainly from conglomerate and corporate loan growth at 12.3% and retail loan growth of 7.3%. LH Bank has been upgrading investment features on its mobile banking app and the new version is scheduled to launch at the beginning of next year.

Regulator steps in to simplify Covid claimsInsurance companies have been ordered to use Covid-19 RT-PCR tests instead of medical certificates as proof of a claim for a lump-sum payment, in order to ease the burden on buyers. Moreover, the need for a medical report has also heightened the risk of creating new clusters, as people are flocking to hospitals to get examinations. Previously, the OIC had merely asked insurance firms to cooperate, but it found many insurers still applied different practices regarding the use of documents for the claim process, causing confusion and inconvenience to claimants. Mr Suthiphon said many lump-sum payments had been delayed due to confusion regarding the regulations. Therefore, to help alleviate the suffering of buyers and fast-track the claim settlement process, legal steps were needed to ensure compliance and eradicate legal loopholes regarding the use of supporting documents in the claim process, he said.

When it came to the national animal, she showed a picture of an African instead of a Thai elephant. The most recognisable is the Asian elephant's smaller and rounded ears compared to the African species' large fan-shaped ears. Saving the magnificent creature is emphasised on the occasion of World Elephant Day, which annually falls on Aug 12. Narrated by Canadian actor and elephant conservation advocate William Shatner, the documentary was released on the first World Elephant Day on Aug 12, 2012. Supporting organisations that work on stopping illegal poaching and trade of elephant ivory, protecting wild elephant habitats, or caring for domesticated elephants in natural sanctuaries are some of the other ways we can help save the poor pachyderm.
