Nuclear fusion is considered by some scientists to be a potential energy of the future, particularly because it produces little waste and no greenhouse gases. In the fusion process, two light atomic nuclei are "married" to create a heavy one. In this experiment scientists used two isotopes of hydrogen, giving rise to helium.

It noted that most Southeast Asian countries including Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia have been posting record Covid-19 infections or fatalities. By contrast, Indonesia and Philippines, the most populous countries in Southeast Asia, have only fully vaccinated around 10-11% of their people, while Vietnam sits at below 2%. These coming weeks are critical for scaling up treatment, testing and vaccinations, in every corner of all countries in Southeast Asia," he said, adding that there must be a target for vaccination rates of 70-80%.

Record 312 Covid fatalities
(Photo: Chanat Katanyu)Thailand logged a record 312 new Covid-19 fatalities -- substantially more than the previous high of 239 -- and 20,515 new cases over the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry reported on Wednesday morning. On Tuesday, 22,682 Covid-19 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Since April 1, around when the third wave of Covid-19 began, there have been 940,094 Covid-19 patients, 725,693 of whom have recovered. The death toll was at 8,191 the third wave and 8,285 from the beginning of the pandemic early last year. The previous high of daily Covid-19 fatalities was at 239 on Tuesday, when there were 20,128 new cases.
