Full-range licences of digital asset service and partnership strategy are the key factors in building up the company's comprehensive ecosystem. For the first half of this year, the company booked net profit of 65 million baht. Apart from the new S-curve digital asset market, our low-base is another key factor contributing profit at an aggressive growth rate," he said.

An influx of Russian tourists to Greece and Turkey amid the pandemic proves that there's demand from this market," said TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn. After the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) allowed tourists who have been vaccinated with Sputnik V to visit sandbox destinations, TAT hopes to lure at least 500,000 Russian tourists this year which will help beef up total foreign visitors to 1 million.

Targets set for new PTT businessesNational oil and gas conglomerate PTT Group says it intends to maintain the momentum of its new business development, including electric vehicles (EVs), over the next five years. It wants to have new businesses generate 30% of net profit by 2030, whereas last year the new businesses made up less than 1% of total net profit. PTT on Tuesday reported a 23% growth in revenue in the first half of this year to 1.011 trillion baht, up from 824.9 billion baht. Net profit increased fivefold to 57.16 billion baht, up from 10.5 billion baht in the same period last year, said Mr Auttapol. Capital expenditure for PTT is set at 865 billion baht, an increase from 851 billion baht.

Govt defends its purchase, use of Sinovac to fight Delta strainThe government has defended the use of the Sinovac vaccine and its plan to purchase 12 million more doses to combat the Delta variant of Covid-19 after the most recent study of those who received two doses of Sinovac showed satisfying results. The public called for the government to instead procure mRNA vaccines which many believe are better than Sinovac. "We need to provide vaccines to as many people as possible. We are going to order 12 million more doses of Sinovac to combine with the limited amount of AstraZeneca," he told the press conference. He said since the launch of the programme, thousands of macaques, both male and female, had been caught, sterilised and released. There were now more than 3,000 macaques in the areaEvery macaque that is steralised is marked before it is released, Mr Nopporn said.
