Sri Lanka launches world’s first sustainable smart mask
BreathTech S³, the world’s first sustainably-designed smart face mask to use respiration sensor technology is set to provide respiratory protection to Sri Lanka’s national athletes taking part in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Co-developed by SLINTEC, CIRQ Technologies and Hirdaramani Group, the mask ensures the best fit possible and minimal leakage using real-time fit assessment technology. Manufactured using a combination of sustainably sourced, natural and biodegradable materials, and features an advanced graphene-based sensor (patent pending) that measures breathing rate, mask fit, CO2 build up and mask usage, all of which are accessible via a secure mobile app. On Monday (19), Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa was present at the launch of the smart face mask at the National Sports Council premises.

India funds Sri Lanka s first floating solar plant to power Parliament
Sri Lanka’s first floating solar power plant is planned to be built in Diyawanna Lake with the assistance of a loan from the Government of India. The floating solar power plant, which is proposed to be constructed to meet the daily electricity requirement of the Parliament premises, has a capacity of 1.5 MW. Minister of Power Dullas Alahapperuma stated that a preliminary feasibility study is currently underway. The Minister further stated that the construction of the power plant will be expedited and the Parliament will set a precedent for the entire country regarding the concept of floating solar power plants. The Minister said that feasibility studies will be conducted by the Ceylon Electricity Board on the relevant reservoirs and the reservoirs with the maximum capacity will be selected.

Asus ROG Phone 3 finally gets Android 11 update
While Google was busy beta testing Android 12 for its Pixels for the past few months, Asus has been doing the same thing for last year's ROG Phone 3 - only with Android 11. Asus has put out a new firmware update file on its website which takes the ROG Phone 3 from Android 10 to Android 11, finally. However, there's one huge caveat - this is only intended for handsets sold on the Taiwanese market. It brings with it everything you'd expect from an Android 11 update, and on top of that there's a new ZenUI design with revamped built-in apps. Maybe it can do that before Google releases Android 12?

SJB to ‘create awareness’ following defeat of no confidence motion

Netflix will offer mobile games with your subscription
TL;DR Netflix has confirmed that it will include mobile games at no extra charge for subscribers. It’s not clear which games you’ll get, how you’ll get them, or how much they’ll cost. As The Verge noted, Netflix has confirmed in a shareholder letter that it will offer games to subscribers at “no additional cost,” starting with mobile titles. It only justified the move by arguing that the “time is right” to understand how Netflix subscribers appreciate games. A Netflix games offering would be something of a gamble.
