PAKISTAN observes October 27 as the Black Day along with Kashmiris across the globe and in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). It was on Oct. 27, 1947 that the sufferings of Kashmiri people commenced with the landing of Indian troops in Srinagar. The Indian occupation forces since then have occupied, subjugated, oppressed and terrorized the innocent Kashmiris. This impunity continues even today where the presence of Indian occupation forces has increased manifold after New Delhi suspended the special status of IIOJK through revoking Articles 370 and 35-A of the Indian Constitution on Aug. 5, 2019. Nearly 3,432 cases of war crimes have been perpetrated by senior officers of the Indian occupation forces.

THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) believes that the country's expanding debt burden is not yet alarming given its composition. And that, in fact, foreign debt, rather than total debt as a percentage of GDP, is fairly reasonable. The country's foreign debt-to-GDP ratio improved to 26.5 percent from 26.6 percent a quarter before, reflecting higher economic development in the second quarter, it noted. The country's GDP jumped by 11.8 percent in April to June this year, ending the recession. That is a long, long time metric being used by those who would like to join the Euro community — 60-percent debt-to-GDP ratio and a deficit-to-GDP ratio of 3 percent.

The primary effect was that the normal negative correlation between stock markets and bond markets flipped to become a one-way positive correlation. This is about to be reversed and I expect investors to ask themselves if the positive price correlation between all asset classes will remain if the financial markets correct down? When the Covid-19 crisis hit the financial markets, it was across all asset classes, which could hint that the positive price correlation still was intact. But last month, the positive price correlation was obviously a factor as all asset prices went lower. It leads to my conclusion to lean toward the view that the financial markets are moving back to the less positive or even negative price correlation again.

THE main index extended its loss on Friday despite trading upwards for most parts of the day due to profit taking. Japhet Tantiangco, senior research analyst of Philstocks Financial Inc., said the last minute sell-off prevailed over the market, which furthered its decline. Tantiangco noted, however, that local shares were in the green for most parts of the day amid the positive spillovers from Wall Street. Trading was still strong despite the drop as net value turnover stood at P13.48 billion, well above the year-to-date average of P7.22 billion. Foreign funds also entered the market as net foreign buying amounted to P1.47 billion.

Once a business has launched, the primary problem changes from identifying how the business can be valuable to its customers to how can the business grow and continuously provide value. SAN FRANCISCO, United States: Google on Thursday (Friday in Manila) said it will no longer post ads next to misinformation about climate change on its search engine or on global video-sharing platform YouTube. The internet giant added that the policy change aligns with efforts by the company to promote sustainable practices and confront climate change. "Google's important decision to demonetize climate misinformation could turn the tide on the climate denial economy," said nongovernmental organization Avaaz campaign director Fadi Quran. "For years, climate misinformers have confused public opinion and obstructed urgent political action on climate change, and YouTube has been one of their weapons of choice." Social networking colossus Facebook, which is Google's biggest competitor in the digital advertising market, touts efforts to curb climate misinformation at its platform but has no such ad ban in place.
