PTI chief Imran Khan on Saturday asserted that he would give the final call for anti-government protests when the time was ripe for it, saying it would come when he is assured that he can “take three wickets in one ball”. At the start of his address, Imran thanked the supporters for turning up in large numbers and waiting for his speech. Imran said the establishment has power but they remained ‘neutral’ when his government was overthrown through a vote of no-confidence. “Only real freedom can pave way for real democracy,” he added. Imran, the deposed premier, on Wednesday announced that the final phase of his party's movement for “Haqeeqi Azaadi” – ‘real freedom' - would begin on September 24.

The political elite was involved in their pursuit of power politics, spreading hate, while their keyboard warriors were busy targeting political rivals or trolling state institutions. who are too involved in intra-political party rivalry, spreading venom. One wonders why Indian Diaspora remains united, and lobby for India, although they are not dual nationals, but are actively involved in American politics. Sadiq Khan Lord Mayor of London is a rare exception, who has never been a member of any political party in Pakistan but holds a key public office in the UK.

PM says int'l support for floods 'commendable' but not enough
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday made an urgent appeal for "substantial" debt relief from rich nations as catastrophic floods exacerbated by climate change displaced millions of people in the country. The floods have submerged a third of the country and killed more than 1,500 people. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on the international community to help Pakistan financially as damages caused by the floods exceed $30 billion. Wanted TTP terrorist killed in Swat: CTD
Share:The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Malakand Region killed foiled a major terror bid and killed a ‘wanted’ terrorist of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Swat. According to a CTD spokesperson, the security forces and terrorists exchanged fire in the area during wanted TTP terrorist – Adil Zaib – was killed. The raiding team also recovered hand grenades, weapons and ammunition from the killed terrorist. The CTD spokesperson said the killed terrorist was involved in targeting a vehicle, which killed VDC [village defence committee] member Idrees Khan, two guards among eight people. Earlier in the day, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed two alleged terrorists said to be associated with a proscribed outfit in Balochistan’s Khuzdar.

Ms. Angelina Jolie, Sp Envoy to UN High Comr for Refugees, visited Nat’l Flood Response Coordination Centre & was briefed about relief, rescue & rehabilitation efforts being carried out for flood victims. She was of the view that if the world help didn’t reach in next few weeks, then these people could not survive. Last time when I came here, I found Pakistanis hosting Afghan people, but today they have been confronting themselves with an enormous natural calamity, Jolie said urging the world to ‘do more’ to help the Pakistan flood affectees. She said her heart was with the people facing this calamity and she expressed her resolve to visit Pakistan again and again to extend help to the flood affectees here.
