Enumerating PML-N feats, Sanaullah urges nation to elect sincere leadership

He said that Imran Khan was not sincere with the nation but he was befooling the people through his false claims. Imran Khan looted national wealth through his crony Farah Gogi and shifted it aboard. The people should show political maturity and repose their confidence on PML-N to elect a sincere leadership to resume development pace in the country.

Kashmir prime minister disqualified over contempt of judges
MUZAFFARABAD: Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, was disqualified from regional parliament after being found guilty of “insulting” judges in public remarks, officials said. The notices required Ilyas, an outspoken business tycoon known for outbursts against judges and bureaucrats, to appear before both the high and the Supreme Court on Tuesday to explain his position. Following the announcement of the verdict, Ilyas, who was scheduled to appear before the regional Supreme Court, headed instead to the Prime Minister’s House accompanied by cabinet members. Chaudhry urged Ilyas to apologise for his actions and expressed hope that the Supreme Court would provide relief. The assembly in Kashmir is expected to choose the new leader of the house in the coming days.

Hyderabad by-poll schedule revised

According to a report on Monday, the by-elections in Karachi will now be held on May 7, 2023, instead of April 18, 2023. Earlier, the Election Commission issued a notification of the Local Government (LG) by-elections in 93 constituencies across Sindh including the remaining 11 union councils (UCs) of Karachi on April 18. It is worth mentioning that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has decided not to run in the next local government (LG) by-elections in Karachi’s remaining 11 union councils (UCs), which were scheduled for April 18. The MQM-P leadership also instructed its all candidates to withdraw their nomination papers filed in the Election Commission.

Man charged over hate crime at mosque near Toronto, police say
The incident took place in the city of Markham while the suspect, 28-year-old Sharan Karunakaran, was later arrested in Toronto, the York Regional Police said in a statement. Canadian Trade Minister Mary Ng condemned the incident and called it a hate crime, saying it had no place in Canadian society. Thousands of people attend the mosque at Markham. Police added they charged the suspect with uttering threats, assault with a weapon and dangerous driving. “This violence and Islamophobia has no place in our communities,” the Canadian trade minister, who is a local member of parliament, said in a reaction to the incident.

Dar blames ‘crises’ at home for skipping US trip

The OIC chief held Israel fully responsible for “the implications of these dangerous crimes and violations which are capable of stoking violence, tension, instability, and insecurity in the region”. Pakistan issues visas to 2,856 Sikh yatrees from India

The issuance of visas was covered under the framework of the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974. Every year, a large number of Sikh Yatrees from India visit Pakistan to observe various religious festivals and occasions. The visas issued from New Delhi were in addition to the visas granted to Sikh pilgrims participating in these events from other countries. He further stated that Pakistan remained committed to preserving sacred religious places and providing necessary facilitation to visiting pilgrims.

Grand dialogue on polls proposed
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri has said that as far as new elections are concerned in Pakistan, for the sake of the integrity and the interest of the country, all the stakeholders should hold a grand dialogue. In a statement issued here on Friday, she said that the country’s stability lies in the supremacy of the Constitution as Pakistan cannot afford any political chaos and unrest. ISLAMABAD: The eleventh anniversary of the Gayari tragedy was observed Friday to pay homage to those who embraced martyrdom in the deadly avalanche near the Siachen Glacier region. The no-man’s-land is 20,000 feet (6,000 metres) above sea level. On 7 April 2012, a massive ice avalanche struck a Pakistani military headquarters at Gayari, 30 km west of the Siachen Glacier terminus, near the Siachen glacier region. The area located in a deep valley at 3,775 metres (12,385 feet) above sea level, the Gayari base is one of the most important Pakistani bases in the area.
