A United Nations body agreed on Friday to a long-term aspirational goal for net-zero aviation emissions by 2050, despite challenges from China and other countries aligned largely with airlines amid pressure to curb air pollution. China, backed by Russia and Eritrea, questioned the feasibility of the goal, and argued developed countries must provide financial support to developing nations with faster-growing aviation markets. The assembly also approved changes to the baseline of ICAO's flagship aviation emissions agreement CORSIA. "Having a single, global goal for an international industry like aviation will provide much-needed certainty for the industry, investors and all states involved," said Adina Valean, European commissioner for transport. Jo Dardenne, aviation director at Brussels-based Transport & Environment, said the goal is better than no goal, but decried the lack of a plan to achieve the target.

Of the two audio leaks purportedly of Imran Khan as Prime Minister, released on Friday, one deals with getting five parliamentarians on his side. Previous leaks, as well as another on Friday, have dealt with the cipher. Be that as it may, whoever the leaker, the leaks seem to have come from the PM’s Office. More direct pressure on Mr Khan came from the FIA arresting PTI stalwarts in connection with the party accounts into which Abraaj Group chief Arif Naqvi is alleged to have donated to the party. A week after a leaked audio recording of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders was released, another one surfaced on Friday purportedly featuring party chief Imran Khan talking about 'buying' MNAs. In the 0.45-second audio, a voice attributed to the former prime minister can be heard and he is apparently talking about 'horse-trading' - a political practice involving 'buying' MNAs before crucial votes in the assembly. The audio starts with Imran purportedly stating “don’t think everything is over", a possible reference to the vote of no confidence in March this year. “I am buying five [MNAs], I have five [MNAs],” the voice believed to be of Imran's states. The game will be in our hands.”Towards the end of the audio, Imran can be heard saying that the nation is alarmed at the moment and wants “us” to win in any way.

The Indian Muslims live in a state of constant fear. Besides persecuting the individual Muslims, the Indian government has, in tandem with the RSS, unleashed a sustained propaganda campaign alleging that Dawat-e-Islami (Ilyas Qadri) and Peace TV (Zakir Naik) spew hate speech to incite Indian Muslims to “terrorism”. The Hindutva proponents (VHP et al) have been making shrieking calls to get this organisation banned. During the nation-wide crackdown on the PFI, India did not find a single firearm. India has banned the Muslim organisation, Popular Front of India, for five years.
