The environment has been unrelenting for Pakistan, and new predictions allude to a future that is potentially more destructive. Pre-monsoon rains have already wreaked havoc across major areas of the country, including Punjab and KP. This is extremely concerning, especially when we take into account that we are yet to experience monsoon rains that flooded most of the country last year. These active power lives fall onto the roads, where water collects due to horribly maintained drainage and sewerage systems. As a country that is likely to experience the worst forms of monsoon rains simply because of its geographical location, one would assume that the authorities would embark upon development projects that factor in these externalities as well, but alas.

Pasoori Nu – a remake of the original Coke Studio hit Pasoori by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill – has failed to impress fans on both sides of the border. Pasoori Nu features Aaryan and Advani romance each other to the track as the video offers glimpses from the upcoming film. Pasoori Nu features music by Rochak Kohli and Sethi, with lyrics by Gurpreet Saini and Sethi. A subpar remake at best, Pasoori Nu doesn’t carry the simplicity, nor the magic of Pasoori. Pasoori Nu is a nod to Pasoori but not its replacement.

The NHL Player Inclusion Coalition is the latest step in a process started in the summer of 2020, when the police killing of George Floyd led to a worldwide reckoning on matters of race. Specifically, Duggan said she and fellow coalition member Mark Fraser spoke to Toronto Maple Leafs players about Pride issues. The HDA was established outside the league’s umbrella by current and former NHL players of color in 2020 to speak out against racism and intolerance, and with a mission to open up hockey to minorities. “Hockey players deserve a world without doubt to know that hockey’s for them,” Carter said. “We’re not going to roll over and not celebrate Pride nights and not welcome that community into hockey,” she said.
