He made this assertion on Friday in Kaduna during the passing-out parade of cadets of 70 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). Represented by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, President Tinubu disclosed that the current programmes being pursued by his government were part of a new national defence and security strategy. He said that the young man had just joined them from the village…as it’s his turn to be “settled” by their big brother. He expressed concerns that the young man wasn’t showing enough seriousness. Today, he and their big brother have also added local rice (which they source from farming communities in the state) to their economic efforts. One has just finished learning dress-making and their big brother set her up. I can’t tell you how much their story inspired me!

The National Universities Commission has approved the Niger State University of Education as the 270th university in the country. “There is a deficit in Educational facilities hence, my administration is desirous of making Niger State “the Massachusetts of Nigeria. He also said that he is confident that the upgrade of the Federal College of Education Kontagora to a University of Education signed by the Buhari administration will soon come to fruition. The idea of converting the state College of Education to the University of Education was conceived by the Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu Administration in 2013 and it was recognised as a duly established University in the Nigerian University System by the NUC on the 8 of May 2015. The State University of Education is now enlisted as the 270th University in Nigeria with effect from 28th September 2023.
