A very good Christmas party drink doesn't have to be difficult. This festive Jingle Juice punch is simple and delicious — and because it's a punch, you can mix it up and let guests serve themselves. A high-quality ginger ale, such as Fever Tree or (for a real kick) Reeds will add a lot. And use freshly squeezed orange juice if you can: three to four oranges in a sturdy juicer should do the trick. For the wine and rum, you don't have to go over the top, but choose something drinkable — the quality will come through in the final drink.

The apex court also stated that Atiku did not produce alternative results of the presidential election that showed that he won a majority of votes cast to rebuff the one declared by INEC. According to Justice Okoro, the appellants have not demonstrated why the Supreme Court should interfere with the decision of the lower court and resolve all seven issues raised for the determination of the court against the appellants. The judgement of the lower court is hereby affirmed; I make no order as to cost”, Justice Okoro held. Earlier, the courtdismissed Atiku’s motion seeking leave of court to file fresh evidence in his appeal against Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election. “The Constitution does not permit that, and this court has no jurisdiction to grant the filing of fresh evidence that was not pleaded at the lower court”.

THE recent disagreement between the National Universities Commission and the National Board for Technical Education over a ‘top-up’ programme to convert Higher National Diploma obtained in polytechnics, to bachelor’s degree offered by universities, is an absurdity. The salary entry-point disparity between HND and degree holders in the public service provokes accusations of discrimination. The NBTE needs to reinvigorate the importance of the technical education and to engage government to drive the much-needed industrialisation in the country. This will rejuvenate polytechnic education. Polytechnic education was introduced in Nigeria to drive the mechanisation and industrialisation through the training of technical manpower, it must not be erased.
