MONROVIA- FrontPage Africa has reliably learned that SN Brussel is set to resume its flights from Brussel to Monrovia following assurances from the Liberian authorities that the glitches have fixed. The action of SN Brussels, which has for the past three months been landing using its own systems and by sight, was in line with Belgium’s Aviation laws which prevent its aircraft from landing without a functioning navigation system. However, just a day after its cancellation, the airline announced that it is resuming its flights from Europe to Liberia effectively immediately following assurances from the Liberian authorities that glitches have been addressed. A passenger who visited SN Brussel’s office in Monrovia said he was assured that the flight for Sunday still stands. Opinion By: Stephen Roberts/ BSc EconomicsFor decades now, Liberia has not been able to bring the benefits of global economic attractions to door steps. This is especially in an era of economic development where Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and exporting are now essential components of a local economic development strategy. The country has over the years struggled to attract foreign investors, from identifying targeted sectors to engaging new business and doing business with foreign entities, from cultural differences to tax and financing issues. Despite her infrastructural and national security challenges AML opted to invest in Liberia and since 2005 spent a little over 1.7 billion on its Liberian operation. However, while a few may not come to appreciate the role AML has and continues to play, the company record stands to speak for her.

It shows a desperate obsession and blind ambition in his drive to pursue the Liberian presidency. For Cummings to harp on this unfortunate incident in President Weah’s outstanding football career is political desperation. But Alexander Benedict Cummings did not think he would get a swift and effective response from the President. Cummings’ charge that President Weah supported LURD and MODEL is horrific and could be based upon manufactured evidence and or a convoluted sense of reasoning. The headbutt dredging and scurrilous charge of President Weah supporting rebel groups are politically motivated.

By Aaron WeahIn July 2021, I visited Dr. Joseph Saye Guannu at his home in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, for two days in a row – the 9th and 10th. Dr. Guannu was assigned a few chapters, as were other academics. By July 2021, I had not seen Dr. Guannu for a few years. Dr. Guannu was once a cultural symbol of his native Nimba— one of the first to acquire a PhD. LegacyThough neglected at the end of his life, Dr. Guannu’s legacy is augured: his books will remain standard texts of Liberian history.
