As per a new directive of the Indian government, messaging platforms such as WhatsApp will be required to automatically log out users from web and desktop sessions every six hours. So, if you find yourself repeatedly logged out of WhatsApp Web, it will not be a glitch. The compliance deadline for instant messaging platforms is February 28, 2026, and the Centre has indicated there will be no extension. This means users who access WhatsApp on office computers or personal laptops will have to re-authenticate their session every six hours. For professionals who keep WhatsApp Web open throughout the workday, the change may feel inconvenient.

Former Chief Justice David Maraga has condemned the alarming revelation that a Sudanese rebel leader is holding a Kenyan passport. The rebel leader is under sanction by the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control and the European Union. Magara said the alleged illegal and irregular acquisition of Kenyan travel documents by the man highlights how such actors exploit passports for mobility, financial access, and evasion-turning diplomatic tools into instruments that prolong war and atrocity. To remedy this grave lapse and restore Kenya's diplomatic and constitutional integrity, Maraga urged the government to swiftly revoke the passport and any associated documents. He claimed that Kenya had lost a significant share of the Sudanese tea market due to such developments.
