Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, said on Thursday that it will cut more than 4,000 jobs at Block, nearly half of its workforce, during the current boom in artificial intelligence (AI). “Intelligence tools have changed what it means to build and run a company. A significantly smaller team, using the tools, can do more and do it better,” Dorsey said in a statement. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dorsey said he has made “one of the hardest decisions in the history of our company”. Dorsey explained that the company chose to make one large round of job cuts instead of several smaller ones over time.
