Health insurance is not most people's favourite subject. But Neville Koopowitz, the chief executive of insurance company Vitality, has a secret weapon: the company mascot, Stanley the dachshund. 'Those who engage in the Vitality programme fully have 39 per cent lower mortality risk, if they get to Platinum status,' he says. Vitality, says Koopowitz, is the third largest health insurance operator in the UK with 15 per cent of the market, behind Axa and Aviva. Isn't it hard in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, to persuade people to take out a health insurance policy or to join a gym?

At least 297 people died from overdoses last year in Snohomish County, a 4.2% increase from 2022. “Snohomish County is getting hit particularly hard.”Opioids caused 80% of the county’s overdose deaths last year, and 76% involved fentanyl. “Fentanyl has become an increasingly frequent killer in Snohomish County,” said county Health Officer James Lewis. From 2006 to 2019, nearly 414 million prescription opioids flooded Snohomish County, according to a Washington Post analysis of DEA data. Part of the issue, he said, is that Snohomish County is one of the top 10 fastest-growing counties in the country.

World Genocide case against Israel: Where does the rest of the world stand on the momentous allegations? The majority of countries backing South Africa's case are from the Arab world and Africa. No Western country has declared support for South Africa's allegations against Israel. South Africa has also condemned Hamas' Oct. 7 attack but argues that it did not justify Israel's response. The Cairo-based Arab League, whose 22 member countries are almost all part of the OIC, also backed South Africa's case.

Citigroup has announced plans to cut 20,000 jobs over the next two years under a turnaround plan led by the Wall Street giant's British chief executive Jane Fraser. Fraser pledged that 2024 would be a 'turning point' after the lender reported a £1.4billion loss for the fourth quarter that she admitted was 'very disappointing'. The 20,000 job cuts announced yesterday will take out a big chunk of its 239,000-strong workforce. Chief financial officer Mark Mason yesterday admitted the job cuts were 'tough on morale' but that they would not prevent revenue growth. It came as Wall Street rival JP Morgan said its quarterly profits fell by 15 per cent to £7.3billion but full year profits rose 32 per cent to £38.9billion.

According to Rasquinha, a former SP PWD had issued him a water connection on February 11, 2008 with his consumer No. He noticed that Ribeiro’s meter was fixed on January 30, 2019 and he is having same consumer code i.e. But till today nothing has been done and water bills are issued to both with the same consumer code,” he rued. “Will the government authorities dismantle the illegal water connection allotted with my consumer code, remove the connecting water pipes and punish the culprit/s responsible? It is not possible to give two connections with the same consumer code without connivance of PWD staff by changing the records etc, he reiterated.
