India exports a wide variety of agricultural products including grains, fruits, vegetables, spices, tea, coffee and cotton amongst other products. However, since then restrictions on rice, wheat, sugar and onion have had a major impact on India's agricultural exports in the current financial year. There has been a continuous decline in the export sector in the last two years. Offaly's Jack McEvoy is tackled by London's Liam Gallagher when the sides met in last year's Tailteann Cup. At the other end of the scale is Offaly’s home game against London in Tullamore tomorrow (Saturday) at 1pm. If one contestant on the show was asked to market this, no doubt they would mentally resign on the spot, having been handed a fixture that would be a hard sell to an ardent football fan that lives ten minutes’ walk from Glenisk O’Connor Park. From Declan Kelly’s point of view, London are the worst possible opponents. For supporters, there is no possibility of an atmosphere, no natural rivalry, and the nine-point win in last year’s corresponding game will breed complacency.

Everton drop plans to appeal against two-point deductionBy PA sport staffEverton have withdrawn their appeal against a two-point reduction for breaching spending rules after comfortably cementing their top-flight status. The Toffees announced on Friday afternoon that they had decided not to go ahead with a scheduled hearing to contest the punishment handed down by an independent regulatory commission last month, after they had admitted a second breach of the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules (PSR). A statement on the club’s official X – formerly Twitter – account said: “Everton Football Club has withdrawn its appeal of the decision by a Premier League independent commission to impose a two-point deduction on the club for a breach of the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules for the accounting period ending in June 2023. It left them sitting in 16th place, just two points clear of the relegation zone and in severe danger of dropping into the second tier. However, Sean Dyche’s team will head into their penultimate fixture, Saturday’s clash with relegated Sheffield United, in 15th on 37 points, 11 clear of the bottom three and with their survival assured.

“Midland counties top the national waiting list for Speech and Language Therapy”The Health Service Executive (HSE) has confirmed to Independent TD Carol Nolan that CHO Area 8, which encompasses Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath, has the highest number of people on its waiting lists for Speech and Language Therapy. The HSE say that the total number of patients awaiting Initial Assessment up to March 2024 for CHO Area is now 3,962. This contrasts most strikingly with CHO Area 1 (Donegal, Sligo/Leitrim/West Cavan, Cavan/Monaghan) which has a total of 852 people on its list. Nationally there are just under 20,000 people on the HSE Speech and Language initial assessment waiting list. “The data provided to me today is profoundly alarming given the significant developmental consequences that follow from a lack of timely access to speech and language therapy, especially for young children,” said Deputy Nolan.
