JK Tyre Industries raises ₹500 crore through QIP
JK Tyre & Industries concluded its fund-raising initiative, securing ₹500 crore through Qualified Institutional Placement(QIP). The QIP was priced at ₹345 per share, including a premium of ₹343 per share, with a face value of ₹2 per share. The offering received interest from investors, including Indian mutual funds, insurance companies and foreign institutional investors. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre, said, “We are pleased to have successfully completed QIP of ₹500 crore. QIP funds will be used for the purpose of growth capex and strengthening of the balance sheet.”The shares were down by 1.24 per cent to ₹393.40 at 3.23 pm on the BSE.

Assam CM chairs first cabinet meet of 2024, several decisions taken
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today chaired the first cabinet meeting of the year 2024. Taking to social media platform X, Chief Minister Sarma shared the decisions that were taken in today's cabinet meet. The cabinet has today decided to give a tariff subsidy of Rs 200 crore to the APCDL. The cabinet has also decided that VGR/PGR land is to be de-reserved and equivalent quantum of land to be reserved as VGR/PGR. It has also been decided that 33 landless indigenous families to be settled on de-reserved VGR/PGR land.

NIA scaled up crackdown on terror networks in 2023, conducted over 1000 raids
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) scaled up its crackdown against terror networks in 2023, conducting over 1000 raids after registering 68 cases and arresting 625 accused across the country, an official said on Sunday. The agency arrested 65 accused in ISIS cases, 114 arrested for jihadi terror cases, 45 accused of human trafficking cases, 28 accused of terrorist and organized criminal activity and 76 accused of Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) cases. The 74 accused convicted during 2023 were sentenced to various quantums of 'Rigorous Imprisonment' and 'Fines' as punishment," she said. The agency arrested 47 suspects, 14 more than the last year, who were on the run. "Two accused were arrested in one such crackdown, involving raids across four states in an extortion and levy collection case, on 15th December.
