Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd has received a patent for inventing a ‘helical pump arrangement with anti-vibration coupling.’ According to the company’s stock exchange filing, this is the 11th patent secured by the company. Dinesh Patidar, Chairman of Shakti Pumps, commented about the new patented technology, “Our recent award of the 11th patent marks a groundbreaking achievement in pump technology, particularly with the introduction of our innovative anti-vibration coupling for the helical pump. We believe that this advancement positions the helical pump as not just a solution but a cost-effective and long-lasting asset for various applications.”In addition, the company has invested over ₹13 crore in its subsidiary, Shakti EV Mobility Pvt Ltd.Shakti Pumps stock surged by 4.46 per cent on the NSE, trading at ₹1,117.85 as of 3:20 pm on January 17.

The rupee slipped 1 paisa to settle at 83.13 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday amid massive selling in domestic equity markets and a strong greenback overseas. At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic currency opened at 83.13 and traded in the range of 83.07 to 83.17 against the dollar. On Tuesday, the rupee declined 26 paise to settle at 83.12 against the US dollar. "The rupee traded flat...with the dollar index rising and sell off in capital markets rupee weakness can continue towards 83.25-83.30. On the domestic equity market front, Sensex fell 1,628.01 points, or 2.23 per cent, to settle at 71,500.76 points.

Even though regulations treat ARCs like bad banks, there is a slight difference in their working. They observed that 70 per cent of the NPL are resold by the bad banks at inflated prices to third parties. Second a bad bank’s purpose must be well defined as mere transfer of NPLs to a bad bank is not a solution in itself. Thus in conclusion, the introductions of bad banks / ARC’s into the Indian economy has its own pros and cons. With the following suggestions taken into consideration bad banks might turn out to be helpful for banks in the removal of NPAs.
