“We will be behaving irrationally if we don’t support GNPC to increase its stake now. It is just lack of information,” Dr Manteaw is quoted by myjoyonline to have said this on NewsFile. Dr. Manteaw further lauded the GNPC for its transparency on plans to make the move and thanked them for engaging in stakeholder consultations before seeking approval from parliament. Meanwhile, a petroleum expert, Dr Theo Acheampong, has also commended the GNPC's intention to purchase the two offshore stakes. Dr Acheampong believes the move has enough justification to proceed as it will ensure GNPC gains control of oil exploration projects.

The players were returning to Old Subri on Thursday evening after they lost 2-0 to Tarkwa United in the second division league at the Akon Park in Tarkwa. Severely injured victims have been admitted to the Tarkwa Municipal Hospitalwhile those with minor injuries are receiving treatment at the Huni Valley Health Centre. He explained that the taxi which was behind him, got closer so he decided to allow the taxi driver to overtake him but the taxi driver hit the sprinter from behind, unfortunately, thereby pushing it off the road. The Sprinter driver said the car summersaulted several times before landingin a valley.

This time, the minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, has been trying to woo his other colleague MPs in the region to agree with him to ban the use of tricycles commonly known as "Aboboyaa." Lately, the use of these mostly yellow tricycles have become common in other parts of the country, gradually creeping into the capital city and the minister intends to ensure that this does not become a common trade in his region. In a Facebook post, Henry Quartey wrote about how he had met with leadership of the region, and from across sectors, to deliberate on the matter. The minister has, among other things, ensured that the onion market at Agbogbloshie, including the scrap dealers, have been relocated to a new site at Adjen Kotoku, as well as ensuring that sanity is restored to the Zongo Junction at Madina.

"We need an amount of GH¢750,000 to complete the project. She said the IGF also helped in procuring ceiling fans in all lecture halls, furnish lecture halls with gender-sensitive furniture, renovated the lecture halls, all halls of residence, and also provided floor tiles for every dormitory and all washrooms. She said the college management in collaboration with the current SRC recently fixed projectors in various lecture halls aimed at integrating ICT into teaching and learning as well as public address systems in large lecture halls.

UTAG is on strike, demanding an increment in their basic and market premiums, pegged at $2,084.42, as agreed upon with the government in 2012. In a notice served by UTAG’s National Executive Committee, it said all academic activities were to be suspended, including the conduct and supervision of examinations, a decision which has left many students uncertain about the intended exams. Some students on the University of Ghana campus have exclusively shared with GhanaWeb, their views on the strike and the halt of all academic activities. Some level 100 students were excited about the strike, saying they now had ample time to study their syllabus and prepare properly for the exams. However, level 400 students were not so amused, indicating that they were restless and have no idea what they are doing.

The death of the police officer, who was part of the advance party of the Speaker that was going to the Ashanti Region ahead of an official visit, has since been under investigation by the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, a report by citinewsroom.com has said. The police in Juaso, the report added, is investigating the circumstances that led to the death of the dispatch rider of the Speaker of Parliament. Some two others who were occupants of the private vehicle were also rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries from the crash. “We are currently gathering our evidence from the accident scene to know what exactly might have caused the accident. Herd immunity occurs when a large portion of a community becomes immune to a certain disease. Ghana had initially planned to vaccinate some 20 million citizens by the end of October 2021 but the finance minister says government is unlikely to inoculate the entire population within the period. In an interaction with Accra-based, Asaase Radio, Ken Ofori-Atta outlined a number of factors as to why Ghana will be not able to achieve a certain percentage of herd immunity. This is a result of global shortages and the availability of enough vaccines on the market. According to the Ghana Health Service, only a little over a million citizens out of over a 30 million population have been vaccinated.
