Touting the achievements of the party in that regard, he asserted that “the NPP has been the champion of electoral reforms. We spearheaded the transition from opaque ballot boxes to transparent ballot boxes. We transitioned from black and white voter ID cards to coloured ID cards with pictures. John Boadu was speaking at the party’s 29th anniversary held at its Headquarters in Accra.

He indicated that the recent hike in cement prices was as a result of the high costs incurred during production and increasing freight costs. Mr. Gallini explained that about 99.5% of Ghacem employees are Ghanaian, and this goes a long way to benefit the country. Ghacem pays taxes to support the Ghanaian economy, and also reinvests some of her profits to various causes in Ghana.

Though there have been several calls by some people in the business community to have the borders opened for them to stay in business, the borders remain closed. At least, traders will soon heave a sigh of relief as the former Deputy Health Minister, Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye, has hinted that land borders may be reopened soon. According to him, other antigen technology will be used at various borders to test cargo drivers and loaders. Speaking on Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, Dr Okoe-Boye said, “So, as we speak officially our land borders are closed, but cargo is allowed, and you know cargo comes with the driver and one or two loaders. He believes that the project when completed will provide a lasting solution for the school. As part of measures to curtail recalcitrant persons from openly defecating in the classrooms, the Metro Education Director, David Oppong promised to deploy his security to guard the school. The Chief of Fankyenebra, Nana Obrempong Sarfo Agyemang III, also donated bags of cement and an undisclosed amount of money for the construction of the Fankyenebra M/A Basic School fence wall.
