On March 17, 2021, the Osei Boakye Trust Fund and Most Rev Dr Robert Aboagye Mensah, Most Rev Dr Joseph Osei Bonsu, Rt Rev Daniel Yinkah Sarfo filed a suit at the Supreme Court, praying the court to grant it certain reliefs. The agreement required Yaw Boakye to pay the cedi equivalent of $35,000 as monthly rent to the Trustees. The Supreme Court granted the application with the premise that "re-opening matters already settled" at the Supreme Court was in line with the public policy of discouraging endless litigation. "Anything otherwise may result in an untidy situation where lower courts will exercise the discretion whether the final orders of the Supreme Court referred for enforcement be carried out," the court ruled.

Preliminary investigations by the GLC found Kwasi Afrifa guilty of nine counts of charges for which he is supposed to respond. Lawyer Afrifa was hauled to the Disciplinary Committee of the GLC after his client Ogyeedom petitioned the GLC over his unwillingness to refund an amount of $75,000. In his response, Kwasi Afriyie made some vile allegations against Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah and renowned lawyer Akoto Ampaw. “He further informed me that the Chief Justice had demanded a bribe of US$5,000,000 for a successful outcome to his case and that he had already paid US$500,000 to the Chief Justice. A High Court in Cape Coast on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, declared the 2020 parliamentary election held in the Assin North Constituency as null and void. According to the trial judge Justice Boakye, the National Democratic Congress’ 2020 parliamentary candidate for the constituency, James Gyakye Quayson breached the provisions of the constitution concerning dual citizenship. But speaking on Joy FM, Monday, August 2, Sammy Gyamfi stated that the trial judge determined the case in accordance with Canadian law. Akomah-Ninfa filed a petition at the Cape Coast High Court seeking to annul the declaration of James Gyakye Quayson as the Member of Parliament for the Assin North Constituency for owing allegiance to Canada. In November last year, a group calling itself ‘Concerned Citizens of Assin North’ petitioned the Electoral Commission in the Central Region to withdraw the candidature of Gyakye Quayson, arguing that he owes allegiance to Canada.

Samuel Takyi who has his eyes set on gold could not achieve his dream as he was lost on a 4-1 decision by the five-member referee panel. The second round was a fairly good one for Takyi who pushed his opponent and made some incursions. The defeat brings an end to Takyi’s spell in the Games which has seen him become the first Ghanaian to win an Olympic Medal in 29 years.
