When you are a youth and you cannot accept the role of politics, then I’ll say you are lost,” Kufuor stated. “If it is just money, then perhaps go and do galamsey; take the gold and sell it… but that is not what you should want. He also advised the accomplished in society to impact the youth to be entrepreneurs and partner government in its developmental agenda.

19-year-old sentenced to 15 years imprisonment over attempt to snatch motorcycle
According to Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Ofori, the complainant (Isaac Mensah) who is a motor rider, was hired by Daniel to transport him from Mile 5 to Agyeikrom. While on their way, the boy who was sitting behind the driver on the motor stabbed him at the back in an attempt to abscond with his bike. The okada driver struggled with the boy who upon realising that he was being overpowered, run into a nearby bush after being chased by the rider. The okada rider was sent to the Obuasi Government Hospital for treatment and has been discharged according to a report by GNA. The convict who pleaded guilty to robbery and causing harm unlawfully was sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment for stabbing the motor rider.

FLASHBACK: Too many checkpoints hinder internatinal trade – GSA boss
This was revealed in a speech read on his behalf at a stakeholders’ forum on Trade Facilitation and Road Governance at Paga in the Kassena –Nankana West District of the Upper East Region. This is due to many checkpoints mounted by the Police and Customs at Ghana’s transit corridors to neighbouring countries. These checkpoints have been identified as part of the major challenges facing trade facilitation and robbing the country of its economic resources. It was aimed at updating and sensitising the players in the trade and transport industries on the current development on the Ghana’s Northbound Transit corridor. Mr James Zuugah Tiigah, the Upper East Regional Minister, in a speech read on his behalf, pledged the Government’s commitment in tackling the challenges confronting the sector.

Tamale Interchange to be completed in three months – Urban Roads
The Tamale interchange records a total length of 1 kilometre bridge and ramps, and 5 kilometres of ancillary road works. In an update to President Akufo-Addo on the road construction progress, Alhaji Awudu indicated that out of 19 spans, 13 spans including the ramps have been completed, the report by Asaase Radio revealed. On the remaining six spans, he said work is currently ongoing noting that ancillary works, mainly asphalting, street lighting and road safety works are expected to be completed in the next three months. He also paid a visit to other road networks like the 100-kilometres of roads construction within the Northern, North East and Savannah Regions. The work which started in March 2021 is expected to be completed in September 2022, according to the contractor, M/S Queroz Galvao Konstruktion.

He explained that but for the fact that he was buckled in his seatbelt, it could have been worse. Latif described his experience as a close shave as there were no casualties in both vehicles in the aftermath of the accident. Now that’s triple.”“And then we went through the exercise to sort of titrate to see what we’ve got, and we got about 60,000 businesspeople who were not paying taxes,” he revealed. Some doctors [are not paying income tax] …so you begin to see all of these professionals, all of us on social media ranting against the government and [realise] that most of these people are not even paying taxes,” the finance minister stressed. Though there is still work to be in generating more revenue, Ken Ofori-Atta said the GRA is making changes to its structure in order to ensure these efforts yield results.

Three arrested in connection with murder of a 45-year-old Okada rider in Ashanti Region

Akufo-Addo brought freedom of speech to its peak in Ghana – Mac Manu
According to the NPP’s director of elections during the 2020 elections, talk of the Akufo-Addo government superintending over a perceived return of the culture of silence was untenable. GhanaWeb monitored comments Mac Manu made on the August 8, 2021 edition of Joy News’ ‘The Probe’ programme answering an array of questions around the party’s 29th anniversary. “I cannot understand how a party in government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the man who brought freedom of speech to its peak in this country, will turn his back against the same thing he has fought for. “Early this year, in Africa, in terms of freedom of speech, Ghana placed third, so why are people saying all manner of things?” he quizzed. Nyaho Tamakloe, Afoko, Wereko-Brobbey have no status in NPP – Fmr Chairman
The four ‘no status’ members are Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, Paul Afoko, Sammy Crabbe and Charles Wereko-Brobbey. Paul AfokoAfoko became the first National Chairman of the NPP to be suspended from his position, years ago. Sammy CrabbeSammy Crabbe a former Second Vice Chairman of the NPP was suspended in 2015 along with Afoko and Agyapong for various acts of misconduct. Nyaho Nyaho TamakloeNyaho Nyaho Tamakloe was also another founding member of the NPP who was indefinitely suspended by the party in 2016. The suspension was occasioned by a petition presented by a member from the Ayawaso constituency who alleged that actions by Nyaho Tamakloe undermined peace and unity in the party.
