An (alleged) Ypsilanti-based business claimed in an Instagram post that it designed the menu for Eminem's Mom's Spaghetti restaurant in Detroit before being dropped from the project — a claim that Eminem's team vehemently denies. "Mom's Spaghetti is my menu, my ideas, my family and I have absolutely nothing to show for it," Spa Day Spaghetti claimed, adding, "I ask that you please do not support this business until they give proper credit to Spa Day. "The previous pop-ups were really a test for us to determine whether there was enthusiasm for a regularly-occurring Mom's Spaghetti spot that would be open all year long. "The original archived Spa Day Spaghetti post is below.

The bank, which had promoted its branches as “community-focussed spaces” to “brighten … lives”, said customer’s willingness to bank online or using their mobile phones had prompted it to scale back. In the second half of 2020 Britain’s biggest domestic lender Lloyds resumed plans to cut 56 branches and Sabadell’s TSB announced it was axing 164 branches. When Clydesdale Bank merged with Virgin Money in 2018 the group had a combined total of 245 branches but that will fall to 131 after these latest closures. Earlier this year, Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority told banks to rethink moves to close branches during the pandemic lockdown, fearing it could be to the detriment of customers. Virgin said the closures would trigger a restructuring charge of 25 million pounds ($34 million) in the fourth quarter.

TAIPEI (Reuters) -Taiwan may benefit from orders being shifted to the island if China’s power curbs disrupt the country’s exports, Taiwan Central Bank Governor Yang Chin-long said on Thursday. Yang, taking lawmaker questions in parliament, said that if China’s power crunch caused its exports to do badly, manufacturers could shift orders to the island. China’s new export orders contracted again in September, but less than the previous month, according to its official manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI). Yang said the central bank is also paying close attention to the impact of China’s electricity problems on financial markets. If the United States decides to raise rates, Taiwan may also consider following suit, he said.

Rising COVID-19 cases in tens of cities over the summer also disrupted the manufacturing and the services sectors, though the latter is starting to bounce back as the outbreaks receded. “In September, due to factors such as low volumes of business at high energy-consuming industries, the manufacturing PMI fell below the critical point,” said Zhao Qinghe, a senior NBS statistician, in an accompanying statement. A separate private survey also released on Thursday that focuses on small and export-oriented businesses showed that factory activity in September neither expanded nor contracted. Last month, COVID-19-related restrictions drove services sector activity into sharp contraction for the first time since the height of the pandemic last year. The official September composite PMI, which includes both manufacturing and services activity, stood at 51.7 versus 48.9 in August.
