Auxiliary donates flags for the new Beatrice elementary school
The Americanism Committee of the Legion Auxiliary presented flags to Beatrice Public Schools to be used in the new elementary building on Tuesday afternoon. About $1,500 in flags were donated for each of the classrooms, the media centers, the gymnasium and the flag poles. It helps us remember the people that have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.”Administrator Missy Timmerman said the school wanted this to be a community building. “It’s a new generation coming up and I’m happy we could donate.”Several families donated funds to the Auxiliary in memory and to honor a loved one. I’m excited and I wanted to support it.”The Auxiliary will also be handing out flags during the Homestead Day Parade on June 22.

MP Hafiz Mallik apologises for showing vote in public
Barishal-6 MP Abdul Hafiz Mallik has appeared before the Election Commission and apologised unconditionally for publicly displaying his ballot during the Upazila Parishad election. EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said that he appeared in response to the summons on Wednesday and expressed his regret. Its letter to him stated that photos of Mallik voting publicly at the polling station at Mangalsi Government Primary School had been published by many media outlets. “Failure to preserve the secrecy of the vote by casting a vote in public is an electoral offence punishable under the provisions of Section 78 of the Upazila Parishad Election Rules, 2013. School board candidate Jenise Cicirello letter to Wellsville School District voters
I note that the current board has 5 men and 2 women representing our children. Balancing out the board with both moms and dads of current students will only benefit our children. The municipal portion of my job was similar to the school’s District Clerk in that I prepared Public Hearing Notices, Propositions, Resolutions, Advertisements for Bids, Board Agendas and Local Laws. When I relocated to Wellsville, I worked for Wellsville Central School and was tasked with duties in the District Office, Bus Garage and High School Office. During my tenure, I learned the inner workings of the District Office and became familiar with our school’s policies and procedures.
