I met some amazing people along the way, and learned a lot about how a school operates behind the scenes and the trials and tribulations of being a rural school district. Historically, School Budget Elections are not very well attended, but this year the community came out in droves to make their voices heard. I implore the community to continue to show up for each and every election, whether is be a school budget vote or a Presidential election. I also strongly urge you to attend school board meetings and budget presentations. I would like to expressly thank Superintendent David Foster, Emily Peavey, Megan Burdick, Dawn Youmans, and all of my fellow board members for all of your support and a shared goal of making Wellsville Central School the best educational institution that it can be.

KATHMANDU, May 23, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - A Kenyan climber has died close to Everest's summit and his Nepali guide is missing, a tourism official said Thursday, taking this season's toll on the world's highest mountain to at least three. Joshua Cheruiyot Kirui, 40, and his Nepali guide Nawang Sherpa, 44, went out of contact Wednesday morning, and a search team was deployed on the 8,849-metre (29,032-foot) high mountain. Search parties also continue to look for a 40-year-old British climber and 21-year-old Nepali guide who have been missing since Tuesday morning after an ice fall collapsed as they descended from Everest's peak. Earlier this month, two Mongolian climbers went missing after reaching Everest's summit and were later found dead. Two more climbers, one French and one Nepali, have died this season on Makalu, the world's fifth-highest peak.

I mention all this because I am flabbergasted that any member of the U.S. Supreme Court — or their significant other — could have even the slightest doubt about the importance of neutrality. Yet that seems to be the case with Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. Outside his home in Alexandria, Virginia, an upside-down American flag, a symbol of the “Stop the Steal” protest, was flown for some undetermined period of time. First, it seeks to casually justify an act of pettiness, a behavior ill-suited for a justice on the highest court in the land. Judges aren’t supposed to be like that. Supreme Court employees aren’t even supposed to display bumper stickers on the back of their cars.

Cement binds concrete together but the whitish powder is highlycarbon-intensive to produce, with the sector generating more than triple theemissions of global air travel. To produce cement, the basic ingredient in concrete, limestone must befired in kilns at very high temperatures usually achieved by burning fossilfuels like coal. - 'Bright hope' -The cement industry alone accounts for nearly eight percent of human-causedCO2 emissions -- more than any country except China and the United States. They substituted a key ingredient in that process with old cement sourcedfrom demolished buildings, Allwood said. Instead of waste being produced, the end result was recycled cement readyfor use in concrete, bypassing the emissions-heavy process of superheatinglimestone in kilns.

Standard Chartered Bangladesh has partnered with Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS) to facilitate 11,000 farmers in adopting polyhouse farming across Bogura, Joypurhat, Sirajganj, Natore, Pabna, and Rajshahi. This initiative aims to introduce an eco-friendly agricultural practice that allows for year-round cultivation, independent of external conditions. The collaboration will provide resources for polyhouse development and training to enhance crop yield and quality, thus fostering income generation. The project's goal is to establish polyhouse farming structures for the cultivation of high-value vegetables and fruits, thereby empowering farmers to overcome climate challenges and economic uncertainty. Professor Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum, Founder of TMSS, emphasized the project's aim to enhance high-value crop farming in drought-prone areas through modern farming methods, thereby improving the economic condition of farmers.
