The meeting was informed that the implementation rate of the ADP under the Industries Ministry was 46.24 percent till April, 2024 of the fiscal 2023-24 (FY24). The meeting was also informed that a total of 26 development projects are being implemented at cost of Taka 2,823.12 crore under the ADP of the Industries Ministry.

Due to the severe cyclonic storm Remal, all rivers in the coastal district of Bagerhat are flowing above the danger level, causing water to enter various low-lying and residential areas near the riverbanks. Before the cyclone started, more than 200 houses were flooded on Sunday afternoon in the district headquarters, Morelganj, Sharankhola, Mongla, and Rampal Upazilas or sub-districts, according to the district administration. Abu Raihan Mohammad Al-Biruni, the executive engineer of Bagerhat Water Development Board, said: “Due to the cyclone, the main rivers in Bagerhat were flowing above the danger level by Sunday afternoon. MUMBAI, May 26, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - Four young children were among 27 peoplekilled when a fire in India ripped through a crowded amusement park, policesaid, as rescuers on Sunday scoured the site the morning after the blaze. The four children reported dead were all aged under 12, said police, whowarned that many of the corpses were so badly burned it was difficult toidentify them. Jadeja added that at least 70 people, including children, were on the firstfloor when the fire broke out. An Instagram page that appears to belong to the entertainment facilityadvertises it as an amusement and theme park, where trampolining, go-karting,bowling and paintball are offered, among other recreational activities. Fires are common in India due to poor building practices, overcrowding and alack of adherence to safety regulations.

Due to the effects of Cyclone Remal, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has grounded all its flights to Cox's Bazar and one flight to Kolkata on Sunday, followed by another flight to Kolkata on Monday. General Manager of Public Relations at the flag carrier, Boshra Islam, told bdnews24.com about these cancellations around 11:30 pm on Saturday. She said the Sunday evening flight (BG-395) to Kolkata and the Monday morning flight (BG-391) to the same city were also cancelled. The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal intensified into Cyclone Remal around 6:00pm. Earlier, the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority ordered a suspension of river transport services, including passenger launches, in the coastal areas.
