I Google: “Where start Walter Benjamin”“DO NOT DARE READ BENJAMIN IF YOU HAVEN’T READ HEGEL FIRST”Gotta love philosophy Reddit. Knowing, inevitably, that I’ll be bored or confused, I also grab a copy of Barbara Johnson’s The Feminist Difference — last week I’d had it recommended (perhaps that’s overselling). The Feminist Difference, on the other hand, has already been read twice cover-to-cover. Newsletter SignupIn perhaps the collection’s best essay, Johnson cites Patricia Williams, writing about style and the often toxic veneer of face neutrality with its violations. Before I had even arrived I was certain that the proceeding events would become the opening salvo of my next phase of writing — I’d even developed some preliminary theses.

Those who witnessed it won’t soon forget the 2024 Big Ten baseball tournament — a week that may have changed Nebraska baseball and the Big Ten tourney in Omaha. Bolt, the tough-minded Nebraska baseball coach, reminded that his team celebrated the 2021 Big Ten regular-season title with a dogpile at Indiana. “Josh Caron had some words for the group that helped propel the team,” Bolt said. After losing two games at Schwab to Creighton earlier this season and then the Ohio State game, Nebraska looked lost in this park. And while the other Big Ten coaches may not like it, they understand the images of this week make Big Ten baseball look exciting and appealing.

The Sundarbans is expected to shield Bangladesh from another storm by taking the first impact of Cyclone Remal, which is likely to target the coasts with a wind speed of up to 120kph. Meteorologists say the storm will cross the coasts somewhere between Khepupara in Bangladesh’s Patuakhali and India’s Sagardwip island. SUNDARBANS, A SHIELD AGAINWhen Cyclone Sidr lashed the coasts in November 2007 with a wind speed of up to 260kph, around 3,500 people died, but many others were saved because of the Sundarbans, which suffered extensive damage. The mangrove forest shielded Bangladesh again in 2019 and 2021 when cyclones Bulbul and Yaas claimed 24 and seven lives respectively. “If the wind and storm surge hit [human habitats along the coasts] directly, there would be more damage,” Prof Saiful said.
