In the past week since Pokémon Go was introduced in Argentina, the Metropolitan Police have registered a higher quantity of petty theft. Ricardo Pedace, the deputy of the Metropolitan Police, affirmed that in the past week, the department has noticed a spike in Pokémon-centric crime. A young college student in San Fransisco was shot and killed while playing Pokémon Go in Aquatic Park, according to the San Francisco Examiner. Unfortunately for Pokémon Go players, iPhones are real, Pokémon are not. While traipsing through strange neighborhoods on a hunt for virtual reality monster pets is ostensibly fun, your Pokémon cannot defend you against someone in your own world.

It apparently really does take two to tango: after US President Barack Obama famously took to the dance floor while in Argentina this past March, Secretary of State John Kerry didn’t miss his chance to do the same while in Buenos Aires last week. And, as the following photographic evidence suggests, Kerry tried out a few moves of his own in a quick, impromptu lesson. Kerry — a tango aficionado, it turns out — reworked his 24-hour schedule in the Southern Cone to squeeze in a few hours at the Rojo Tango Show at the Faena Hotel, a dance hall previously frequented by the likes of Sting, the Rolling Stones and John Travolta, Rojo Tango sales director Diego Messano told me. “He’s very nice — a huge tango fan!” Messano replied. Meanwhile, I’m rather hoping Kerry and Obama occasionally break from policy briefings to sashay down the halls of the White House, or clink Malbec glasses to another screening of Scent of a Woman.

Some Argentines are now asking to prohibit the game on various memorial sites in the country. “The State must uphold a clear message when it comes to people’s behavior in the Memory sites that were created for the reflection of collective memory and identity. Some locations, like the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Japan, have asked to be removed from the game while others, like the Holocaust Memorial Museum in the US, have asked visitors to refrain from playing while present. Thus, Mundo Villa Television on Channel 31 became the first television channel available to residents of the settlement, for only 70 pesos per month. Ledesma founded Villa 31’s first newspaper, Mundo Villa; along with a team of reporters, Ledesma focused coverage on local beats within Villa 31. During her introduction of the television channel through Urbana TeVé, Kirchner referred to the channel as the “first villa channel in Latin America.” Publications such as Perfil were quick to jump on the inaccuracy after Joaquín Ramos, the editor of villa television channel Mundo Villa, argued that Mundo Villa was the first channel, actually. “Villa 31 is the most secure place in the country, at least for me.”Beyond amplifying her own purported connection to the villa, Cristina spoke of Villa 31 as a neighborhood deserving of pride and respect. “Villa 31 reminds me of Peronism.

The perception that the political class has used its position to pocket money and favour political allies is widespread. People want the political class to put the house back in order and, preferably, people want to bring in new blood to the capital city of Brasilia. From a political standpoint, 2016 has been a year to forget for Brazil. In addition to Rousseff, the leaders of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies have had to resign from their posts. Several prominent politicians have been implicated, including former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (2002-2010) and dozens of other lawmakers.

In this new suit, Dalbón is accusing Stolbizer of conspiracy and extortion due to her alleged collaboration with Bonadio, who is investigating CFK in a separate case. According to media reports, Stolbizer asked the former president to drop the suit against her, but CFK insisted that she would continue. She also said she was preparing to submit a request to prosecutor Carlos Rívolo to summon the former president, lawmaker Máximo Kirchner and others for alleged money laundering in the “Los Sauces” case. “I will destroy who is in front of me and says these barbarities that she (Fernández de Kirchner) is corrupt, because she isn’t,” Dalbón told Radio Splendid yesterday. After the mediation hearing, Stolbizer announced she would counter the former president’s claims by filing a counter-suit against her for infringement of rights.

Tuesday, August 9, 2016 Trump resets campaign with tax u-turnRepublican US presidential nominee Donald Trump speaks to the Detroit Economic Club at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan, yesterday. “Now the whole party is unified with a tax message,” said Trump economic policy adviser Stephen Moore. With few exceptions, Trump provided more of a philosophical basis for an economic plan than a series of specifics. That would be a major drop from the current 35 percent corporate tax rate, though many companies pay much less because of various deductions. In a shift from the plan he proposed during the primary season, he increased the tax rate that the highest-earning US citizens would pay.

Louisa, Marie-Pierre and I came to Buenos Aires with our backpacks alone and met each other in Buenos Aires. Like lot of projects, Feria Piaf was born in a bar in Palermo. Le Local is the brainchild of three French women who came to Buenos Aires for various reasons but all realized — like most chicas kicking around down here — they had far too many clothes and simply nothing to wear. Thus Feria Piaf (the store’s predecessor) was born. It’s been four years now… Louisa left one year ago and lives in New York now, Marie-Pierre and I remain here in Buenos Aires, keeping this beautiful project alive.
