At a recent rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, Vice President Kamala Harris played a mashup of clips in which Trump warned of dangers from "the enemy within." "This isn't a winner-take-all game," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the game. That left Monday's game as a bullpen game. The Dodgers opted to start Ryan Brasier, the reliever that started the Dodgers' last bullpen game in San Diego. The Dodgers, remember, are running a bullpen game because they were not comfortable with Knack starting a postseason game. Dordt University’s Biology Department is collaborating with researchers at the Donald Danforth Plant Research Laboratory in St. Louis, Missouri to identify heat-resistant genes in plants. Dordt is one of 9 schools participating in the Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) this semester. The project is taking place in the genetic labs course led by Dr. Preeti Shinde, associate professor of biology at Dordt. “The big picture question behind this research is, which genes are involved in a plant’s response to excess heat?” says Dr. Tony Jelsma, professor of biology at Dordt. Students in Shinde’s genetics lab course have been studying plants’ response to high-heat treatment to identify genes that allow plants to survive extreme heat.

Former President Donald Trump is refusing to say whether he’s spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin since Trump left the White HouseTrump says it would be a 'smart thing' if he spoke to Putin, though he won't confirm he hasCHICAGO -- Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday refused to say whether he's spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin since leaving office, as reported in journalist Bob Woodward's latest book. But if the two did speak, Trump said, it would be “a smart thing” for the United States. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, was pressed on his communication with the Russian president during a wide-ranging — and sometimes contentious — interview with Bloomberg editor-in-chief John Micklethwait at the Economic Club of Chicago. During Tuesday's interview, Micklethwait posed the question to Trump directly: "Can you say yes or no whether you have talked to Vladimir Putin since you stopped being president? “Look, I had a very good relationship with President Xi and a very good relationship with Putin, and a very good relationship with Kim Jong Un," he said.
