The Board remains fully committed to pursuing Olympic recognition and stands ready to engage in constructive discussions with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and future host nations to further this shared objective. Recognising that Olympic recognition requires a single, internationally representative governing body, UWPF has engaged in discussion with the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF) regarding a potential unification process and awaits their formal response. While UWPF remains open and optimistic about collaboration, it acknowledges the upcoming GPF AGM as a positive step toward strengthening democratic governance. UWPF believes that inclusive and transparent leadership will lay the foundation for meaningful unification and remains dedicated to ongoing dialogue with GPF and all stakeholders who share the goal of a unified and globally representative federation — the pathway to Olympic recognition. “We look forward to working hand-in-hand with all partners, including GPF, to establish a unified and representative international federation that can carry pickleball to the Olympic Games.”

Now New York Times questions why liberals are outraged by Trump ballroom but silent on monstrous Obama Presidential Library
The famously left-leaning New York Times has published an opinion piece saying that Donald Trump's demolition of the White House's East Wing 'needed to happen' - while blasting President Barack Obama's under-construction Presidential Library as 'ugly and intimidating.' Columnist Ross Douthat wrote that Obama's library on Chicago's South Side is 'architectural vainglory battening on presidential ego, inappropriate to its setting, unmoored from memory and tradition.' Unlike the obtrusive Obama obelisk, the ballroom's design 'is perfectly in keeping with the character of the White House complex,' he wrote. 'It's also because no matter how tight the link between progress and development, it just doesn't feel like progress to live under a baleful shadow like the one that Obama’s presidential monument will cast,' he wrote. The Obama Foundation secured the public land for its project from the city of Chicago for just $10 in 2018.

HSBC takes £826m hit after Madoff fraud ruling
Mr Madoff, who died in prison in 2021, admitted in 2009 to defrauding thousands of investors of around 65 billion US dollars (£48.8 billion). The UK-headquartered group said in its interim results in July that it provided “custodial, administration and similar services to a number of funds incorporated outside the US whose assets were invested with Madoff Securities”. It added that various HSBC companies had been named as defendants in lawsuits arising out of the Madoff fraud scandal. Herald Fund SPC is a European fund that put money into Madoff investment funds, for which HSBC’s Luxembourg securities arm, HSSL, was the custodian. This would mark a decline from the 8.5 billion US dollars (£6.4 billion) made by the bank over the same period last year.

London Underground videos of man scaring women: Arrest made
Chief Superintendent of the British Transport Police, Chris Casey, wrote on X of the videos: “This is not acceptable. A spokesperson for BTP said in a full statement: "We are appealing for victims and witnesses following a spate of incidents on the London Underground. "Officers investigating a series of distressing incidents where a man appears to scare lone females while sitting next to them on tube trains have made an arrest. “The videos have been widely shared on social media and officers are now appealing to victims and witnesses to come forward. 'Not due to cyber attack': TCS dismisses UK media report; reveals why Marks & Spencer didn't renew contract

"The report published by The Telegraph is misleading, with factual inaccuracies including the size of the contract and the continuity of TCS' work for M&S. As both M&S and TCS have clarified, the service desk contract with M&S followed a regular competitive RFP (request for proposal) process initiated in Jan 2025, with M&S opting to proceed with other partners much prior to the cyber incident in April 2025. These matters are hence clearly unrelated," TCS said in a statement on Sunday.The news report claimed that M&S incurred an estimated 300-million-pound loss from the cyberattack and ended its long-standing contract with TCS for operating the company's technology helpdesk. TCS also said the commercial aspect of the service desk area represents an insignificant part of TCS' overall engagement with M&S, and the assertion that it impacts a $1 billion renewal is "highly exaggerated and baseless".The Telegraph removed '$1-billion' contract value figure from its report later in the day.

Rachel Reeves heads to Saudi Arabia in search of economic growth
