Teenagers who smoke high-strength cannabis are damaging their brains, the President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists has warned. Speaking to The Sunday Times, Dr Lade Smith CBE told teenagers who use the illegal Class B drug “you are literally growing your brain in a cannabis soup”. RuinousDr Smith, Consultant Psychiatrist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, explained: “People’s brains don’t stop growing until you’re an adult in your early to mid-twenties. Writing in The Times, the graduate said that she “started smoking cannabis when I was about 15”, convincing herself that it was “comparatively safe”. Although she no longer uses cannabis, she still suffers from “distressing intrusive thoughts”.

Ian Brunskill, an associate editor at The Times, emailed the newsroom lamenting the “humiliating” botched interview with the former New York City mayor. We should have tried much harder to speak to the people concerned,” he wrote in the email, seen by Deadline. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is "the Andrew formerly known as Prince", according the Sun's headline, external. The i paper calls Andrew "a stain on his family's reputation", external and calls his downfall the most dramatic since Edward VIII abdicated in 1936. The Daily Mirror's front page simply says "finally", external beneath a photo of Andrew. The Daily Telegraph says, external Andrew will be due financial compensation for the early ending of his lease, but notes that the cost of future renovations to Royal Lodge will be deducted from any payout. A royal source has told the paper that the Prince of Wales is "fully supportive" of the King's actions.

This year’s two-day Apec summit has been heavily overshadowed by the Trump-Xi meeting that was arranged on the sidelines. “The more turbulent the times, the more we must work together,” Mr Xi said during Apec’s opening session. Mr Xi also expressed hopes to work with other countries to expand co-operation in green industries and clean energy. She said she also hopes to deepen her personal relationship with Mr Xi. Leaders and other representatives from 21 Asia-Pacific Rim economies are attending the Apec meeting to discuss how to promote economic co-operation and tackle shared challenges.

It comes as His Majesty King Charles has today (October 30) initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. The Royal family member will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
