An indigenous Brazilian tribe has sued the New York Times over a report which claimed they had become addicted to porn after Elon Musk's Starlink system gave them high-speed internet access. When Starlink was afforded to the Marubo tribe, they quickly discovered the incredible benefits the newfound technology had to offer. One was from TMZ, who were also named in the lawsuit, which was accompanied by a video with the headline 'Elon Musk's Starlink Hookup Leaves A Remote Tribe Addicted To Porn'. The suit claims the video 'falsely framed the Marubo Tribe as having descended into moral collapse'. Starlink, an initiative launched by Musk under his company SpaceX, owns around 60% of the roughly 7,500 satellites orbiting Earth and is the dominant player in the internet satellite arena.

Ms. Arslett went to her first Northern Soul party in 1982 when she was 18, after a stranger invited her while she was browsing records at a market stall in Oxford. “You go and you’re terrified,” she said. “Everybody is doing the same dance and it looks really difficult. I went for ages and studied it and asked people to teach me and they would say no.”She strives to be more hands-on at the Bristol Northern Soul Club’s parties, approaching people to talk to them or teach them basic steps.

Left-wing streamer Hasan Piker has been banned from Twitch after claiming the DC terror attack looked like a 'false flag' operation. Piker, who has 4.5 million followers on streaming sites Twitch and YouTube, was dubbed the 'Democrats answer to Joe Rogan' in a glowing New York Times piece earlier this year. He was described as a 'very handsome man' with 'socialist politics', a potential antidote to far-right streamers winning over young men. Twitch [terms of service] dictates a suspension for even critical examination of the manifesto,' Piker said. His New York Time's profile piece left out a litany of Piker's shocking statements and controversies.

LONDON: A record number of Americans applied for British citizenship in the first three months of this year, and for the right to live and work in Britain indefinitely, according to official data. In the year to March, 6,618 Americans applied for British citizenship, the highest annual figure since records began in 2004, according to statistics released by Britain's Home Office on Thursday. More than 1,900 of those applications were made between Jan and March - the highest number for any quarter on record.Immigration lawyers said they had received an increased number of inquiries from people in the US about possibly relocating to Britain in the wake of President Trump's reelection in Nov.Separate data published by the Home Office showed that a record number of Americans were given the right to settle in Britain in 2024 - of the 5,521 settlement applications granted for US citizens, most were for people who are eligible because of their spouses, parents and other family links, while a substantial portion were for people who had originally arrived in Britain on temporary visas for "skilled workers" and want to remain.

India’s offer to cut import duties for the auto sector from the UK under the new FTA is “very nuanced” including relaxations and quotas linked to engine capacity and the price of vehicles, a government official said. The free trade agreement (FTA), which was concluded on May 6, aimed to lower tariffs on 99 per cent of Indian exports to the UK and make it easier for British companies to sell goods like whisky and cars in India. The goal is to double trade between the two countries by 2030 from the current level of $60 billion.India also included adequate safeguard points in the pact to protect its sensitive sections. For the automobile sector, India has agreed to reduce import duties gradually over a period of 10 to 15 years. Under the agreement, tariffs on car imports will fall from over 100 per cent to about 10 per cent, but only within fixed quotas. This is expected to benefit companies such as Tata Motors and its British brand Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), PTI reported.Tata Motors Group CFO PB Balaji earlier said that the agreement augurs well to keep driving JLR’s performance in India as it would benefit future cars and enable customers to access global cars and global prices much faster.Meanwhile, luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW have also called the deal a positive step, though they said it may not make a big difference to the prices of high-end cars in India.
