President Trump inspects a Guard of Honour, formed of the Coldstream Guards, at Windsor Castle in England on July 13, 2018. Windsor Castle staff are setting the 164-feet-long mahogany table. So Prime Minister Keir Starmer hurried to Washington in February, just five weeks after Trump began his second term, and handed him the king’s invitation for a state visit. “It’s a great, great honor, and that says at Windsor,” Trump said as he praised the king. “Keir Starmer has, cleverly in a way, used the king to lure President Trump over here, to give him a very good time,” he said.

Cox previously told the Wall Street Journal that Tyler Robinson, a Utah native, was "deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology". The governor said among those co-operating with authorities was Robinson's roommate, who is also his partner. Cox added that the partner did not have any knowledge about the alleged shooting, had been "incredibly co-operative" and was working with investigators "right now". He is currently being held without bail at Utah County Jail. "We're interviewing all kinds of people - everyone that knows him - and trying to learn more about what the motive actually was," Cox said.

When President Trump stunned governments around the world with high tariffs, Britain was quick to strike a trade agreement with the United States that would lock in 10 percent duties on most imports while protecting key industries. The country’s fast action appeared prudent as other deals emerged, especially one that left the European Union facing a steeper tariff rate of 15 percent on most products. But a deep dive into the agreements suggests that the trade math is more complex. As Mr. Trump tears up the rulebook for global trade, across-the-board rates are just a starting point. Nations face tariff rates that vary by product, complicating how governments, importers and businesses operate.

The authorities in Britain said they were preparing the biggest protective security operation since the 2023 coronation of King Charles III for President Trump’s state visit, deploying drones, snipers, mounted police and boat teams in the River Thames. While any visit by a foreign head of state to Britain requires significant policing preparations, experts said that the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk in Utah on Wednesday, as well as the attempted assassination of Mr. Trump last year, has intensified the consideration of potential threats. Mr. Trump is scheduled to arrive in London on Tuesday evening, before traveling to Windsor Castle, west of London, for a series of events with the royal family on Wednesday. Simon Morgan, a former Metropolitan Police royalty protection officer, said that Mr. Kirk’s murder would cause the officials planning the operation to “double down” on efforts to ensure no position where a “shot could be taken” was left open.

NEW DELHI: The southwest (summer) monsoon started withdrawing from some parts of west Rajasthan on Sunday against the normal date of Sept 17, the IMD said. It marked the beginning of this year’s monsoon retreat from the country. Under the new regime, monsoon onset over Kerala remains the same (June 1). There is also no change in the final withdrawal date over south India (Oct 15). The early withdrawal by just three days will, however, not impact the acreage as the sowing operation has already completed in most parts of the country.

And Angela Rayner’s resignation over her tax affairs still looms large as the race to replace her as deputy Labour Party leader takes off. He is also facing disquiet among his own MPs, with one backbencher saying he is “supping in the last-chance saloon”. She also said she wanted to “unite” the party and beat Reform UK to secure a second term for Labour. Bengaluru: Karnataka's coffee heartland — comprising Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, and Hassan — is staring at a regulatory storm as the European Union's stringent Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) looms large. "Coffee prices are finally looking up after years of volatility, but this regulation threatens to undo our gains," said KK Vishwanath, vice-president of the Karnataka Coffee Growers Federation. A grower registration model, integrated with its India Coffee App, is being rolled out. That's a disaster for the three hilly regions of Karnataka, where coffee is not just a crop but a livelihood. If the Coffee Board's system works, this regulation could actually highlight our sustainable practices and fetch us a premium.

The European Union’s foreign policy chief on Sunday accused Moscow of “reckless escalation” after a Russian drone flew through Romania’s airspace, the second incursion over a NATO country in less than a week. Tensions have run high in Eastern Europe’s skies since more than a dozen Russian drones entered Polish airspace last week, prompting NATO to scramble fighter jets to shoot some of them down. Taken together, the episodes further underscore how drones are making the Ukraine war felt outside the country’s borders. “The violation of Romanian airspace by Russian drones is yet another unacceptable breach of an E.U. “This continued reckless escalation threatens regional security.”
