Almost a year on from buying their much loved local The Captain Nelson Tavern back in November 2024, Philip and Avril Routledge have restored one of Maryport's most loved pubs back to it's former glory. Avril said: "It's always been something on our radar, then last year we were just walking past the pub, its a pub we have frequented for the past 20 years, its always been an amazing community related pub. "One day we were saying why isn't it open and then we said 'Why don't we just buy it?' Days later, AstraZeneca announced it had paused plans to invest £200 million at a Cambridge research site. At the start of the trip, the British pharmaceutical giant GSK revealed plans to put nearly £22 billion into US R&D and manufacturing over the next five years. A boost to the UK industry came on Thursday with vaccine-maker Moderna’s announcement that it had opened a new manufacturing base in Oxfordshire. The company said it is the UK’s first facility to manufacture mRNA jabs onshore. Neal Doggett, 64, who grew up in Windermere and lived in Edinburgh, was riding his bicycle at the time of the collision. It says the prime minister is gambling that an updated version of the Tories' "levelling up" strategy will address anger about Britain's broken communities. The 2025-26 college basketball season is right around the corner, and we’re getting more confirmed game times for various Kentucky Wildcats games. On Thursday, UK announced the times for five more games, the first being the massive exhibition showdown with the Purdue Boilermakers, who could be the preseason No. That October 24 game at Rupp Arena will tip off at 6 PM ET on the SEC Network. On December 13, Kentucky will host the Indiana Hoosiers at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN in the first game of the renewed blue-blooded rivalry. Two other game times confirmed are the November 26 game vs. Tennessee Tech at 7 PM ET on the SEC Network, as well as the December 9 game vs. NC Central at 7 PM ET on the SEC Network.
