The new cases were from Kuwait, Qatar, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. Nine cases are returnees aged 33-51 arriving from Kuwait via Qatar and Singapore last Friday. The five other cases are from Qatar, Sweden, Switzerland, the UAE and the US. Of the total 3,942 cases, 3,788 (96%) have recovered including, eight discharged over the past 24 hours, and 94 were at hospitals, the CCSA said.

The Department of Rural Roads plans to build a 1.95km suspended bridge connecting Ban Hua Hin to Koh Lanta in Krabi. Koh Lanta consists of Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Lanta Yai. From Koh Lanta to the mainland, a ferry service is available. It transports both passengers and vehicles between Sala Dan pier on Koh Lanta Noi and Ban Hua Hin pier in Koh Klang District. The airline also offers "Sky Fun Hat Yai Pass" for unlimited flights from Hat Yai to Bangkok and Hat Yai to Chiang Rai from now until May 15, 2021.

Local polls key for changeAfter a long delay, Thailand is to hold local elections across the country on Dec 20. According to the Election Commission (EC), 8,521 candidates registered for the Dec 20 elections in 76 provinces. Initially, there was an expectation that vote turnout for the local elections would be exceptionally high given the absence of polls for so long. It's believed that voter turnout for Dec 20 could reach 90%, higher than the normal rate of 70-80%. However, all voters must be aware that the PAO elections are important for local development in every aspect, including education.

The barricades were installed even though anti-government protesters announced they were moving their afternoon rally from the CPB to SCB Park, the headquarters of Siam Commercial Bank, in Chatuchak district. Cargo containers were stacked on roads to Government House, Royal Plaza and the Crown Property Bureau. The new cases were from India, Mozambique, the Philippines and Russia. He tested positive for Covid-19 on Nov 19, but was asymptomatic. The case from Mozambique was a 41-year-old Thai labourer. The third case was a 32-year-old Thai employee of a private firm who arrived from the Philippines on Nov 19.

Thai people will get their first shots of a Covid-19 vaccine by mid-2021 at the earliest. The vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford will be produced locally by Siam Bioscience Group, located in Pathum Thani. "If the vaccine gets approval from the Thai FDA, we will start our production for the public by the middle of next year. The Thai Department of Disease Control (DDC) says that it requires two million doses per month from the Pathum Thani plant, which can, at full capacity, produce 15 million doses per month. "Giving 26 million doses of vaccine to over 13 million people is unprecedented in Thailand.
