Colombo’s short kerosene shortage ends
The main reason for this was the spread of rumours among the people that there was a shortage of kerosene and that the supply of kerosene to fuel stations had been disrupted on 14 August. This week s parliamentary sittings held only for Tuesday
Considering the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country, the Committee on Parliamentary Business chaired by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardhane today (August 16) decided to hold this week’s sittings only for tomorrow August (17). Accordingly, Parliament will convene tomorrow at 10.00 am and time will be allotted from 10.00 am to 11.00 am for ‘Questions for Oral Answers’ of the Members of Parliament. Subsequently, from 11.00 am to 4.30 pm Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 02 Orders under the Excise (Special Provisions) Act, 02 Resolutions under the Section 10 of the Customs Ordinance (Chapter 235) will be taken up for debate. Thereafter, time has been allotted for Questions at the Adjournment Time from 4.30 pm to 4.50 pm and Motion at the Adjournment Time moved by the government will be taken up for debate from 4.50 pm to 5.30 pm. Meanwhile, Monday, September 06 was set aside as the next Sitting Day and that day had been allotted for the Questions for Oral Answers at the previous meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business.

Intel’s plan for new high-performance graphics: everything we know

Plymouth holds minute's silence to remember five shooting victims
Their brave and selfless actions were hailed today following a minute's silence held across the city to remember the five victims of Britain's worst mass shooting for a decade. Relatives of Lee and Sophie Martyn attended the 11am vigil at the city's Guildhall and fought back tears while tributes were being paid. Armed with a shotgun, he then went out into the street and killed Sophie Martyn, aged three, and her father, Lee Martyn, 43, who bravely tried to shield his daughter from the bullets. Mourners fell silent as five gongs, to represent each of the victims, were sounded and everyone paused for the minute's silence. Questions are continuing to mount over how Davison, who took his own life after the shooting spree, was able to obtain a firearms licence.

Autopilot is a hands-on driver assistance system that is intended to be used only with a fully attentive driver. Of the 31 crashes, 25 involved Tesla Autopilot, resulting in 10 deaths, according to data released by the NHTSA.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the newly initiated Royal College Prefects’ Council saw the “work from home” culture as an opportunity to put to bed this elusive project. ‘The boys’ had to shoulder the tasks of developing, programming, designing, writing, content collecting and even video production for publicity. “Built by boys in the school” is a phrase inspired by a book published in 1931 titled ‘The History of Royal College’, written by 20 boys in the school at the time. The College hopes that this project inspires projects of a similar calibre both within the school and across the Island.

Coronavirus- 2,428 fresh cases reported in Sri Lanka
